I noticed the lazy image loading and had a look at the code. It's already pretty slim, but I think you might perhaps be able to speed it up a bit more with less code even. I only looked at this small feature, so maybe what I suggest makes no sense in the big picture. But I like these kinds of nitpicking and since you're a bit anal about performance, you might like it too. If not, please ignore hiding

For every lazy lading image you now have two IMG tags. With many lazy loading images on a page, this can easily add some extra kBs of duplicate data on profile pages. On my own current profile page this is about 18kB of HTML (nitpicking++) geek
