On the home page why are the 'featured members' only ever the women of this site and never the men?

They are all lovely but aren't we all equal?

I think it's more females since more females actually have a profile picture and many men have a picture of a woman instead of a man.

But seriously...yes, I agree with you Sundance, we are all equal...

If you notice, the profiles that get the most views tend to be girls who post nude photos of themselves in their profiles, and seem to get more views for some strange reason...

It's really hard to believe that some men on this site can be so shallow...

While there are plenty women who do post pics of themselves the majority of young perfectly shaped/hot women pics are obviously fake. Often those profiles with fake pics end up in the featured members section.

Ok here is the question.... does it really matter at the end of the day?

I know for me, I love looking at that one man's tree (can never remember his name, the one, where he takes the picture looking up at it? So ethereal, quiet and calming that picture) and usually click to look at his profile often.

I think it has to do with the fact that many women don't really care if there are naked photos or not in a person's profile or if the avatar has some form of nudity. For me at least, I go with what I find interesting. If a person makes a great post, I look at their profile. If a person has a curious avatar, I go looking.
Living life and enjoying life are two different things... just need to figure out how to do both at the same time to live it right!

it's Buc, and i love that picture too smile and honestly, i'm more interested if their bio page has personality then i am if it has nude pix on it. you can tell more by what a person says then you can by what s/he looks like naked.

I think that the amount of males visiting the site compared to females is way bigger (twice the amount?), thats why female profiles get visited more (or male with female pictures as avatar) and thus show up in the featured box. (not sure how that is calculated but I think profile hits has a lot to do with it)
Just compare the top 10 of most viewed female profiles compared to the top 10 of most viewed male profiles and you see a big difference in profile views (with the exception of one male profile who always has a sexy female avatar)

It would be an idea to split the featured box in half, one half to show only female and the other to show only male profiles. But then again, the male profiles with female avatars might show most of the time.

Really? For some reason I thought that it was about even, or maybe even more females. I know it seems like there are more female profiles than male profiles in general, but maybe I'm off on that.

EDIT: Tommie appears right- there are more than twice the number of profiles that identify themselves as male than there are female, according to the search function.
