The theme for this competition, is simple - oral sex, in all its mouthwatering guises!

That would be too easy, so the challenge for this competition, is to write us a piece of "Flash Erotica", which must be between 100 and 1000 words long.

Stories need to be submitted to our new "Flash Erotica" category.

The competition is sponsored by our good friends at LELO, and the first prize, is the amazing new Ora (see Dancing Doll's review of this amazing toy!).

The winning story will be featured on LELO's blog, and the 3 winners, invited to become official LELO freelance contributors.

I enjoy the challenge of writing Flash. Oral is one of my favourites and Lelo is such a brilliant brand, so I need to get thinking.

I love this competition!

It isn't as easy as it seems. Trying to set the backstory, create the proper mood and emotional connection and then artistically describe an intimate act proved more difficult than I imagined. I ended up having to delete some things I'd rather not have. Even my use of metaphor had to be trimmed. Even then I came in at 999 words!

I have to say though it was fun and it taught me to really concentrate on what was needed.

I've written two Flash stories now, both very different and a real challenge to write, but I agree that it really think about what you're writing and if it's really needed.

I've got the title for my competition story so far. The idea is slowing forming, so I hope to get writing soon. I want to get my audio for my other flash story done first.

I'm looking forward to reading yours.
I thought you'd think the competition had something to do with cameras knowing you Alan?

This is set to become our most popular competition yet, we've had 60 entries already.

I'd hate to be on the judging panel!
I'm glad I did this one.

Being a very detail oriented writer made this difficult. I had to actually think about what was vital to the story & leave everything else out.

All in all though it may be my favorite out of those I've written so far.

*crosses fingers*
With all the stories being under 1k words, it doesn't take long to read them, and I ran into the time limit between votes on the second one as I started reading my way through the entries.

Anyone know how long it is, so I know how long to wait before starting the next story?

i think we settled on 5 minutes? i might be mistaken, though. i was playing footsie with Milik during that meeting, if i recall...

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

I ran into a 3 minute minimum time wait between voting/comments on hte blue site just this day. I'm assuming LUSH is probably the same.

yeah, 3... that's what i meant...

Oral simulator... How the hell am I supposed to get my dick into that?

Try putting it through that hole. What's the worst that could happen?

it would have to be really small... so... no problem, right?

Look, stick to writing sex stories. Comedy takes a certain je ne sais quoi.

Thats what I mean, maybe I can wiggle it in when flaccid, maybe. But if I get hard with that thing around my dingus it would turn just as purple as the outside rubbery parts.

Fun! I thought I'd done a really short story and it hit nearly 1,500 words. I couldn't edit, I had to slash whole scenes!
I don't like writing in the first place but to cut it to ribbons was even worse.HDYzp7Z7ZMdTtGWZ
Lol Derek, I know what you mean hun. I tend to be very wordy and must have reread it a dozen times adjusting and then having to cull the word count again.

Still needs editing again.lol, never satisfied xx

I'll spread the word...and btw, all this time I thought the new "Flash" erotica category referred to something completely different...anyway...

(rofl) don't laugh. i thought this tooo
I counted words after every page. That way I knew how many I had to work with as I went.

Still a pain though.

I started off that way but I found the story wasn't going the way I had hoped, decided to try a different tack and not be too concerned about the word count for the draft. I could then cull the parts that were just filler but still keep the direction solid.

Well it worked for me anyway lol ;), but reading some if the other entries I'm now nit so sure!

Did that too, but no matter how I tried to keep things concise, every time I looked I still had a good part of the story to write anyway. So after writing came the big combing for fillwords and adjectives, then the big shortening. I thought I had it as both google docs and word told me I was below 1000, and when I pasted it into the Lush editor it read 979. Still, when I pressed "publish" I received a red warning that I was over the word limit - seems that the backend and the editor count differently - and that was when it got really, really hard. If the story was a grape, it felt like squeezing the seeds.

yeah, I hated to have to trim it back, but I did enjoy the challenge
We're blown away by the number of entries, it seems more than a few people like these short story challenges, as well as LELO products

3 more days until the deadline. If you want to make the min # scores requirement, you'd better get your entry in fast, if you haven't already.

Good luck everyone.
I can't wait for the 16th to see how everyone did.

*excited face*
The comp is still open, but one of the entries has already been given a "recommended read" tag. Maybe I'm being over-sensitive, but this doesn't seem right. Wouldn't it be better if the mods waited until the comp was over before giving these? It sort of makes it look like less of a level playing field now, as if one story has been marked as special before the judging even starts.

22 February 2024 - How about a quick plug for one of my filthiest recent stories? It's all in the title - Naked Pool Party Swingers | Lush Stories Please read, comment and maybe give it a ❤️ - or even a⭐ if you really enjoy it! Thank you! Annie xxx

I think this contest is closed.

Typically the mods do not award rr's until after a contest closes.

That's about the same as mine when I finished and I admit the ending was rushed and editing was a pain but it's worth it - exactly 1000 words and not a word less. Good luck to everyone. I'm just looking forward to submit the sequel. Is that allowed? I think I read a condition of entry being that one cannot submit an entry of a preexisting story. But after the competition are we allowed to submit a sequel then? smile

You're correct. Once the competition has ended and the winners announced please feel free to submit your sequel then

I think this may be due to a 2 day extension of the competition. As a rule, moderators do not apply any awards whilst a competition is active.

Bit of a timing balls up, me thinks smile
