Feeling bored one morning this weekend, I thought it would be fun to look at which are the most viewed stories in each of the 57 Lush Story Categories, and how many hits they’ve had.
Other Lushies might be interested in having these listed in one thread too, so here they are. I’m not going to list them all at once, because that would be a long post, but will post them in manageable batches, starting with the first three – Anal, BDSM and Bisexual.
It’s interesting to see how long it is since some of these writers were last active on Lush, and yet their stories have over the years remained popular and read. Clearly many readers, when looking for something to read in a category, still look at which stories have had the most hits over the years.

21. Incest Fantasies
Incest stories have a chequered history on Lush. When I joined in 2011, “Incest” was one of the most popular categories, and stories would get a lot of hits. But then in around April 2014, in an attempt to make Lush more “marketable”, the whole category, along with all its stories, was deleted with minimal warning by the admin - and a huge amount of fuss from the readers. A number of members left in protest. Then, a few years later (2018), the category was quietly reinstated. Some people were lucky enough to have their stories retrieved from the archives, although with most of their statistics deleted, but others were lost forever. For the time being the category is back though.

“How I Fucked My Mom” by hairyballs1, submitted on 14 Aug 2015, with 97,668 hits. NB – this submission date is clearly inaccurate, as this was during the “Lush Incest Ban” period and was also a year after the writer last logged on. It is also quite appallingly written and has clearly bypassed any meaningful editorial input. Extraordinary!

Annie, thanks for doing all of this research so far - it looks like a ton of work, but the results are very interesting. Kind of shows you who the authors were that have helped to make Lush the great site it is, but it's also sad that so many of them are gone or no longer actively writing.

With the exception of the Femdom category, ther are NO categories with top stories newer than 2017. The year 2011 was big in the stats. Why is that? We’re there just fewer writers and fewer stories to read back then?

Thank you, Annie, for this continuing compilation. Very interesting seeing the creative achievements attained by writers here, then reading the stories noted. A bit depressing personally, but that's just me knowing myself.
Here's the next three categories.

I’m not convinced that either of the top 2 stories count as novels really, but who am I to judge?
1. “Big Girls Keep Even Bigger Secrets” by Lightitup, submitted on 16 June 2010, with 54,727 hits. It has 1,623 words, and even with its short sequel, submitted a couple of days later, it’s a pretty short novel.
2. “Shazia; A Tale Of Transformation From Conservative Muslim Girl To A Cock Addict Slut, Part 1” by nazhinaz, submitted on 1 Jan 2013, with 46,445 hits. It has three further chapters. Mind you, it does have one of the longest titles ever.
3. “My Friend’s Dad” by kornslayer1, submitted on 8 Oct 2011, with 42,403 hits. It’s got 20 chapters, so is the most novel-like of the top 3 by a long way.
Lightitup joined Lush on 7 December 2009 and wrote three stories. He last logged in on 30 October 2013.
