My husband was never interested in having multiple wives or playing up. Being bi-curious, for 20 years I wanted a threesome with him and another woman. Eventually I met a young lass here on Lush and she and her lesbian lover moved down and lived with us. Eventually, hubby resisted the temptation and I got the wish with having a threesome.

Hubby has been completely rejuvenated ever since and adores Callista. I am not sure he could handle multiple wives as a harem or concubine. Sleeping as a threesome definitely has its advantages.

What an interesting discussion! The question about a man with multiple wives should take a step or two forward: What about a woman with multiple husbands, like the movie, Paint your Wagon? It is called polygamy. I propose another multiple partner relationship called polyamory - loving more. It is when the main partners both love other people and even love the same people. Here are some quotes I love:
"If you are monogamous, you are most likely okay with your lover sharing his or her love, time, understanding, compassion, forgiveness, nonjudgment and attention. The one thing you will probably not stand for is the sharing of their sexual intimacy. This implies that you value it above all else. It is the one thing you must “own” to feel safe. I challenge this belief......
You can therefore practice compersion, the opposite of jealousy, which states that you gain happiness when those you care about are more happy. This involves non-attachment to your ego’s goals of having everyone to yourself. Once you are able to see how sexual possession has become an “accepted attachment” in your society, you can then introduce sexuality into the above “multiple friendship” scenario, and see how your responsibility to yourself is to release your attachments as opposed to struggling to preserve them.....
Polyamory questions the requirement of sexual monogamy. This may feel like a great threat to our sense of security. However, there is no greater sense of security in a relationship than knowing that your love is not threatened by the presence of more love." (Life, Mystic (2003-12-21). Spiritual Polyamory)

The author links polyamory with spirituality, not religion. I know this is not part of this discussion but it is important in my life. I cannot serve another person's ego in a monogamous relationship.

Anyway, back on topic, he sees multiple wives as being able to provide for our family better... more wives to help each other with the kids (we have many), with the housework, with providing financially for the family, etc.

Has your husband started the interview yet or did he hire the services of a recruitment agency. How about social security and health benefits for the other wives? A job description might come in handy too in case they forgot what they were supposed to do. Oh and before I forget: Are the other wives supposed to stay in or out of the house after work?

Anyone seen the show Big Love? It’s about a man with 3 wives and several children. They all live in 3 separate but next to each other homes. He doesn't have sex with all 3 at the same time. They just have him on different days of the week. It’s a great Drama show to get an insight at their lives.

It had a great cast lineup:

Bill Paxton
Jeanne Tripplehorn
Chloë Sevigny
Ginnifer Goodwin
Douglas Smith
Grace Zabriskie
Mary Kay Place
Matt Ross
Cassi Thomson
Amanda Seyfried
Shawn Doyle
Mireille Enos
Željko Ivanek
Melora Walters
Joel McKinnon Miller
Daveigh Chase
Jolean Wejbe
Bruce Dern
Harry Dean Stanton

Hey.. We do have more females than men, so it may fill a purpose.

There will be always a first or more important wife, as the lady on his left.

Since peoples change, there could also be "multiple" divorces.

Why not one wife with several husband? Sexually wise most any woman can take easy at least two men ( a woman told me that). A man with three women.. ouch the Viagra. Even if he doesn't use Viagra he will be using lots of aspirin.

Choose n Practice Happiness

Life is simple; we are what we eat and what we read. Talk is superfluous.

Most of my stories relate to this topic. Women tend to have one or more close girlfriends whereas male to male relationships are just as real but more transient. I'm sure my wife's BFF knows my favourite sex positions along with the size of my penis, I don't see why they would share the actual experience. It just seems like a natural extension of the relationship they share, and I'd never have to give another decorating, shoe or dress opinion.

I would think the stress from having multiple wives would kill a guy a good ten to twenty years before he'd have died otherwise.

Right now, men who have multiple wives are thought of as cultists, sociopathic child abusers determined to keep all the women (often girls) under their thumbs and father scores of children which the women have to raise according to his doctrines. Those men are regarded as the scum of the earth and the women are regarded as shellshocked abuse victims. That perception is extremely unlikely to change.

I don't really understand his reasons for wanting them, it doesn't make any sense at all. Surely you would be better with multiple husbands. That way you'd be satisfied sexually and your husband would have more time to relax. Just think the average income of men is higher and with the extra cash you could afford home help with housework and the kids giving you much needed rest for your nocturnal duties.
Also with wives there's the risk of even more kids. So suggest it to him and see what he thinks.
Beware some of the replies will be blunt here on Lush, we tend not to pull our punches.

Mate that is a brilliant response. See how keen he is with that suggestion. All the points raised r much more valid than ur husbands. Regardless though in multiple human relations of this kind their will always be jealousy at some time and that as they say is the green eyed monster for a reason.umjuh8Mofpfh8yIR

If your the bread winner this makes even less sense.

Excuse my ignorance but what is a SAHD?

Very interesting viewpoint with some interesting concepts. But I believe I have pretty good handle of the human species these days and I cannot seeing it working unless some very special people are involved or the society in which you have been raised has had those beliefs in it social structure for some time. I believe certain native tribes have similar such beliefs in one form or another but that has been their way of life and accepted tradions for generations.

As long as u are all happy and content that is all that matters. My wife on the other hand is very old school. If I played up it wouldn't be with her consent and I would have my vitals removed with a blunt spoon.uA3zDZELyFPBpiKd

One guy and multiple girls? That's fucked up. One guy can't take care of one girl, let alone more! One girl and two or three guys is more like ir.

His reason is to better provide for the family. Another man could do that just as well as a woman. When he suggests wives is he thinking of you, your needs and the family needs or is he thinking of his own?

Counter with a suggestion of an extra husband.

If you're really going to opt for this arrangement..I'll pray your husband get to live long.
I doubt a man could live a sane life with more than one wife.. let alone 3-4 of them!!

Right - my response to that one would be to throw him in a maids outfit, make him clean the house and care for the kids then ass fuck him and inform him he'll be baby sitting while I go out on a date with one of my boyfriends but then that's just me.....good luck with his fantasy I'm betting that's not happening!

The original poster hasn't been around in over 4 years. Hopefully she got her head on straight and kicked her freeloader sperm donor to the curb and forced child support from his worthless ass. More likely, as that was already at least her second abusive relationship, she has gone on making very poor choices.

Found there are a lot of legit discussions of Polyamory on the web. I suspect most of these relationships the extra partners are 'tertiary'. "Not part of the retirement plan", as one of my friends put it. Either way the relationship/s require a lot of communications, realistic expectations, respect. ect...

Monogamy mostly works for me. Its nice to make a few extra friends.
