Can a profile be too long?

I have a profile that is a bit larger than normal, but I feel like I wrote out everything like I wanted, but feel sometimes a large profile might be intimidating and people might not read it to the end. Dose anyone else feel that?
Some people put literally nothing and others have several pages and for example list 50+ films and 50+ music titles they like. I personally favour short and sweet. I would think very few people read completely a 'large' profile and I would call yours large. From a chat and getting to know someone perspective I think a few salient points about yourself is good and then you can talk about other things when you engage in chat.

Just my opinion.
What if your profile is too thick?
Yes, it's too much to read. Lol

I agree with John. A few simple points is enough.

Ah Crap!

Lol .. I looked at your name and just thought Pingu .. sorry .. I assume you are not a penguin.
Yes I agree, a very long profile can put you off just to look at it. Oh, and while we're on the subject, I hate those see-through ones, - they're even harder to read.
Short answer: Yes

However, it's your profile, do what you want. Some people will read the whole thing, and some won't.

If you do have a longer bio and are concerned with whether or not people will read it, break it up into smaller paragraphs, and put what you want people to know about you the most in the first paragraph or two. It makes it less daunting, and if someone's just skimming, it gives them a better idea of who you are.

But overall, who cares? It's your profile, so again, do what you want.

100% correct - I despise those too - I can't even see who posted on their wall or read the names of their stories. Tisk, tisk. But I'm such a sissy and my eyesight is not all I wish it could be.

Funny. In the words of The Wire's, Senator Clay Davis...

If your bio goes much beyond the height of your avatar, or at worse, I have to scroll to keep reading, you'll likely lose me. Not that I am a friend collector anyway, so nobody's loss. When you need hundreds of words to describe yourself, for me, you are far too complicated. There are other things on your profile that can sound the alarm for me but I wont go into that. But it is your profile. It might be something too think about if your friend requests go unanswered.
Here is the general rule on bio length. For a man the bio should not be longer than his pecker. For a woman is should not be longer than her Lelo Kaya Rabbit Vibe.

Said no man, ever.

I may be alone here, but I quite like a longish bio. It shows you've taken the trouble to write something. Also I'm just nosy.

But endless lists of your fave movies, books, music or whatever are a complete bore. A few choices are enough.

22 February 2024 - How about a quick plug for one of my filthiest recent stories? It's all in the title - Naked Pool Party Swingers | Lush Stories Please read, comment and maybe give it a ❤️ - or even a⭐ if you really enjoy it! Thank you! Annie xxx

this. i like to think my profile isn't too long (but i've been told otherwise). i visit the chat rooms often and don't expect someone to read my whole profile before deciding to converse with me. if i had my choice, i'd rather you fill out your interests and favorites versus your bio. that gives me specific things to talk about should i decide to chat you up.

Say. Her. Name.

I prefer profiles be short, sweet, and not have a picture for a background. Keep it simple, silly.
Yes, definitely smile so can some forum posts. If someone writes a novel I'm more likely to skim it it just skip it altogether. TLDR (too long, didn't read).

I have three famous stories, 2 recommended reads and have come in the top ten in two competitions~ Come in and make yourself at home.

I quite like the see through ones myself ?. Oh, sorry, you said profiles not panties, didn't you? My bad ?

The profile should reflect your personality. That being said write what you want. Allow people to get to know you. If you can do it in a paragraph or two that's lovely. If not take all the space you need. It's your chance to express yourself. For good or bad. Just remember the old maxim about first impressions.

Lol...you must really hate my page...and yeah, I do realize it's a bit long...the notes on each story might be of interest to some, though I did them originally for my own benefit...nice to be able to look back and remember the inspiration for a story or poem...

You know you want it, you know you need it bad...get it now on Amazon.com...

Yep, it tells me about WHO they are and what they are as people BEYOND. male or female! It's nice to know what ELSE they enjoy doing.. OTHER than sex. (As in something TOO chat about. The problem in all too many relationships is... we fall for a woman's LOOKS and soon run out of ANYTHING TO TALK ABOUT!)

I think you win the prize!
Oh sugar..trust me I've seen worst...your profile is still in the "Normal" section for now!
I don't have anything against long profiles..infact I'm very much fond of people who can write nicely.
But if you don't have that talent ..please for humanity's sake stop writing shit it hurt my eyes!

For a funny, generous & realistic profile I'm ready to spend my few minutes and I do read them to the end.
Turning your whole profile into a Rulebook is less than interesting. Give them a few important bold texts but don't ruin your whole profile with it.
