hi there, is there any way I can upgrade my account without using PayPal.

my PayPal isn't working at the moment is there any way can upgrade with my card without linking to PayPal? TIA.

The payment is processed through PayPal, but you do not have to link your card or sign in to PayPal to do this, so you should be able to do it like a regular credit/debit card transaction.

All payments are billed securely through PayPal. You do not have to join them in order to purchase using your credit or debit card. Make sure you choose the "Pay with a credit or debit card" option for this.
but it takes me straight to the PayPal link and i can't see any other way to buy. is there any other way? or link to a normal card payment?

I think its a geographic thing. According to a site I was looking at about troubleshooting Paypal issues, one specific reason why the Debit/Credit Card option may not be available to a customer is:

"The country your customers reside in. Not all countries have all PayPal features available."

I tested the link myself and it worked fine, I got the option to use a Debit/Credit card to make a payment. I then logged out of my Lush account, directed my traffic through Israel which is where your profile says you are located, logged back in, tried the link again and this time no Debit/Credit card option.

Perhaps Paypal are required to impose this restriction based on a customer's geographical location.

Yes. Log out of Lush, connect to somewhere like the UK or US, log back in and try it again.

Are you saying that you connected via another country and that the Debit/Credit Card option did not display?
no, I got the credit/debit setup, but at the bottom part, after the card details, it has to open a PayPal account, and won't let me just pay without opening the PayPal account. i already have a Paypal account that i do not use anymore. so it defeats the purpose

nope had no luck with any of it. it all seems to be connected through PayPal which I cant do, unfortunately.

I guess your solution isn't going to work for me.

What changed since a year ago when I first paid?

PayPal is now requiring the same information as if I were creating a PayPal account, which I do not want to do. After I clicked Pay with Debit or Credit Card, it asked for name, address, and phone number as well as the card info.

If I provide information it doesn't like, I get the message "Failed to add credit card" because that is exactly what it tries to do.

If I provide plausible information to get past its checks, it tells me all I have to do is set a password and they have an account set up for me. Because that's what they did.

I use virtual credit cards to protect myself online. PayPal doesn't like that, they say I should let them protect me. There was a big mean guy in the old neighborhood who suggested the same thing.

Since PayPal demanded information they didn't need to process the payment, and since they aren't supposed to keep it once the payment is made, I don't feel bad about fibbing to them, but it should not have been necessary. At least the problem is solved until next year.

I found this thread when I encountered the problem hoping for a fix. If someone else has the same problem, all I can say is that PayPal is looking at the information you provide and applying some checks as if it were going to set up an account. That may be why it fails, even if the information you provided would have satisfied the card transaction process.
The process does seem to have changed in that the 'Pay by debit or credit card' button has been replaced with 'Check out as guest' but I dont believe anything else is different. All the information requested is required for billing and payment purposes with the exception of phone/mobile contact number. However I do a fair bit of internet shopping and asking for that is standard.

I think it varies based on country... perhaps choose UK and see what you get.
