The most common response having explained to the guys who want to know more is ‘oh I thought it meant you’re a squirter’

Doesn’t help being listed as ‘Fluid Female’ on the mobile site.

Interested if anyone else gets asked this and what fluid means to those of us who use it?
fluid, for me, means that i am open to sexual relations with all genders and sexual orientations, but that at times i am more into one than another - sometimes i'm more into women and not as interested in men. others, equally interested, etc. hope that helps? lol fluid = squirters? that's pretty funny. smile

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

Exactly what sprite said. Life is ever changing and so am I. ?
And it is the same for me smile I particularly like that ‘fluid’ encompasses a neutral - not particularly any gender - element. There have always been times in my life when I want to be a person (admittedly an awesome, fabulous, splendid person) and not attribute gender.

I also fall for a type based on mind and personality and it matters not one jot if that person is male or female. Male bodies are beautiful, female bodies are beautiful, we are all rather lovely.

I'm not quite sure if I find the common response sad or funny. Hopefully the world will get more familiar with some of the newer terminology. To me it just means preferences change back and forth or are ever changing.

I find it quite cute, I don’t want to call out the people who have been cool enough to admit it and laugh about it with me. Kudos to them for asking in the first place really, I just feel a reality gap when I explain it x

one of the things i really enjoy about this site is it's a great place to learn without the fear of being shamed or judged - it's kind of educational in a way. interested in a certain fetish? just find someone who writes about it, contact them, and ask questions. most of the authors i know are more than happy to answer questions. or just post in the forums, and pretty much the same thing. opened my mind to a few things and i've been happy to pay it forward by sharing my experience, etc, to people who are curious, especially since some of my interests are outside 'the norm'. smile

Fluid is just what it means, one's sexuality flows and like water it flows based on the landscape. My landscape changes and therefore the expression of my sexuality changes. Water has no judgement, it flows through the path of least resistance. Whatever is in the landscape will direct the flow, whatever I am currently interested in will direct the expression of my sexuality.

For me I see it as both men women treat each other the same with both good and bad. What I look for is what's inside the person. The sex of the person don't phase me and if you and your partner is comfortable and happy together then really that is all that should matter.

Take a look at my new poem for the competition:

That’s pretty much the utopia for me x
The word 'fluid' kinda implies that it's something that adjusts to the circumstances, making it not very different from regular bi- or pansexual IMO. 'Floating' would perhaps be a better word, as it also implies possible changes in position over time, but without the suggestion that context is leading in those changes.

another term for bi sexual
There are degrees of sexuality from straight to gay and it's in our genes. Fluid is a narrower description of "Bi" which encompasses a lot of people.

I think I understand fluid now. Sexuality is a scale, bi being in the middle. Being fluid means you move around on the scale sometimes being more straight than gay and vice versa. I also think that under the right circumstances all men can have sex with men. Straight men being deprived of female company for long periods for instance, like being in prison

I have always understood fluid as bi/pan but shifting in your actual desires over time. So right now, I might be totally into women but months down the road, I might lean more into men or hit the middle ground. Versus someone who leans the same way all the time. I am a bit fluid in that way. Right now, I could probably put myself down as straight given that my interests seem to lean entirely to the ladies but that could change down the road.
Fluid to me means that any person will date another person no matter their sex/gender or if they've transitioned.

Am I wrong?
Fluid for me is an emotional thing, a state of mind thing, a brain wiring thing. I am MAN and I still am. What changes for me is the way I perceive life, react emotionally, even the way I talk changes in the words I use. What does not change is my sexuality. I am a straight male in the body of a man (with breasts, but that is another story) but I choose to look like a tomboy. My feelings range from an effeminate man to a pretty girly woman. I will not transition because where would I go.

I'm also highly likely to have posted this from a phone so there may be typos or odd word changes, auto correct can be a pain.

I've been listening to my kinky pencil here's my current work

My current Competition entry is here

I put a little banner in here, it might change. I'm still messing about with it.

There's actually a name for this. Abrosexual/Abroromantic.

But I think sprite has nailed it. Well done.

My heart has wi-fi and the password is Drew Carey.

We are getting so hung up on terms. Fluid is a liquid that flows. Being fluid in terms of sexuality really only means that at one point a person prefers a penis to play with and another time the same person prefers a pussy and tits to play with.
