I live, part time in the North Carolina mountain area and it gets really cold here! I have several pair that I wear from November to March when I go out. I’ve even used them as pj’s

yes I wear long Johns but here in the UK they mostly come in separate top & bottoms called thermal underwear.

I like them. For one, they are actually warm, and where I live, that's a plus. But I also find them a lot more comfortable than anything shorter, because there aren't any seams or elastic thingies touching the man parts.

I wear long johns when I go winter mountaineering. Last wore them on Crib Goch in north Wales a couple of years ago. But for everything else I wear boy briefs.
