I'm both glad that facial hair is more popular now, yet I was dismayed when I saw someone making my sandwich at Subway sport a single chin whisker that looked like it was a bolt from Thor himself. As distracting as it was I also felt an initial twinge of sympathy for the poor girl, that soon gave way to understanding.
"Surely she knows it's there?", I thought to myself. Perhaps she does but is afraid that cutting, shaving, or plucking it out with its root and all will cause it to come back like an angry dandelion, or grow more. Maybe she-
"No thank you, I don't need it toasted.", I had to continue customizing my order while trying to understand her reasons for her appearance.
Perhaps the wearing of the plaid and the chin whisker are her way of presenting as a lesbian to people who can't tell, a convenient self-made method to dissuade men from asking her out, perhaps an oblivious young man, a fan of people dressed as lumberjacks once did such a thing before this follicular happening sprang forth from her chin. "A mighty convenience this is!", she and I must both think." I thought better of considering it further and carried on with my business of having a low fat lunch complete with chips and a drink containing no nutrition whatsoever. I thanked her and tipped her for throwing out the cut portions of tomatoes that had core in them. A better thing to do would be to core the stem end and slice off a thin bit of the blossom end to make machine sliced tomatoes more edible and chew well within a sandwich. Why does no one do this? At least she recognized the flaw in such a practice and I realised the flaw in myself for judging her and her sporty affectations. I love plaid shirts, even before the grunge era, and even before comedians pointed up lesbians mythic affectations for plaid to the public, and before hipsters wore beards and plaid, I've been a lumberjack leaping from tree to tree, with my ax and my best girl by my side, and we'd sing, sing!, Sing!

Another thing I have noticed is young men or mere boys trying to grow out their facial hair. The only recommendation I have for this comes from Yoda. "Do or do not. There is no try."

I have had a moustache of as many colors as the hair of my scalp and of a length enough to affect (since age 18) either a Kaiser Wilhelm, or a Fu Manchu. I've cut it only once, and has grown more white as I've aged. I've considered having a beard and looking like an 'Evil Opposite' Eric Cartman but my patience with having a beard that isn't monochromatic I eventually shave it. Maybe the reason I do not like having a beard might be the culture of my people? Huns typically do only have a moustache without a beard and are not as hairy as some actual Europeans, or Turks, or Persians.

I like a very short beard or stubble. It's harder to keep a beard well maintained than to just shave it all off, so most men look as good or better clean-shaven. No neck-beard please.

I think it depends on the guy and the beard. I love the stubble look but it can be rough on certain areas of skinsmile

Some men look really sexy with a beard but I like it short and well groomed and trimmed. Not a fan of a long thick beard. Sorry guys if you have one but I just find those gross.

Personally, I prefer the gruffer look; I love beards and goatees. Mustaches can be sexy, too. But not every man can pull it off. A clean shaven man can be just a sexy if that's what suits him best.

I prefer men to be clean-shaven or very well groomed. It's only courtesy. Plus, immense scruff reminds me of my father, and that's just rather awkward while kissing the man I am intimate with.
