sometimes the best name comes from a twist in the story line.
example: Closer (2004)
Natalie Portman's character is an American stripper in London who goes for a walk with Jude Law's character (Dan) in a historical park (well, there's a little more back story to it than that, but you get the drift) .... where she tell's Dan her name is Alice Ayres.
Ultimately, in the end, Alice returns to New York. Passing through the immigration checkpoint on her way back into the United States, it is revealed through a shot of her passport that her real name is indeed Jane Rachel Jones and that she had lied about her name for the duration of her four-year relationship with Dan.
Old fashioned names are making a comeback. But there are still generational names ... like a Jennifer is likely born from the mid-70's to mid-90's, and a Brenda or Linda is likely born in the 50's, and Britney and Courtney and Kylie (and any variation of spellings imaginable) are like mid-80's to early 2000's.

A little kindness can be so valuable, yet costs almost nothing
In many countries being gay is a crime, and even in modern societies, politicians try to legalise discrimination. Your voice can make a difference. Have a look at All Out to find out how.
Hey... pssst.... that's an l (as in luscious) at the end of my name, not an i
Hmm. I often avoid this problem entirely by never giving my characters actual names...but female names that I like:
Charlotte
Madeleine (could be a type of French biscuit, could be a woman waiting to be eaten out)
Jennifer (no bias there!)
Priya (an Indian name and the name of several female friends, have always thought it quite beautiful)
Good luck.
