Because the appeal of a bit of strange overrides any good sense or the thought of feelings and consequences. Not to mention the call from the depths of every cell to reproduce itself causes the primal need to "spread the seed about for it's continuation". Sure that may not be the story we tell ourselves if we ever succumb. BTW. Just what do you consider cheating? (Perhaps another topic I know.)
