However a friend of mine was was born in the Netherlands immigrated to the U.S. and said that some woman had issues with his intact foreskin. So he underwent cosmetic circumcision so that he would look like everybody else in the gym. So I guess men and woman will focus on the strangest things.
The ironic thing, of course, is that the women in the magazines, DON'T have neat and tidy (?) bits which is why they (need?) are Photoshopped to begin with.

Okay, my experience and life aren't like most people, but this gets talked about between the people I work with.
I work at an all-nude club, and because of that, lots of the girls are self-conscious about the way their kitty looks, because it's on display- both on stage and for individual dances. Any joking around about it can be kind of brutal- talking about a girl's 'bubble gum' or 'beef curtains'. Some girls have talked about getting the surgery to trim themselves up. They feel like the guys like the girls with less flappy labias better, and that those girls are making more money and considered sexier. It seems stupid, I know- but in that world, every part of a girl's body matters to the bottom line. Self esteem is one thing, and making as much cash as possible is another.
As for me, I"m not tight as a drum down there, but I also don't have a lot of excessive flabby labia either. I'm satisfied with what I have, but like MMonroe says, if my body was different and I was in the same career as I am now- then it wouldn't seem like such a crazy idea.
I knew someone who had such a complex about hers the NHS paid for her to get it done...I mean why fix something that only a lover can see...If a guy complains about it then he isn't worth sleeping with...the penis isn't the most beautiful looking thing in the world
Some friends and I got into this conversation a few years ago... discussing which of us had a "burger or a bun" (that's how one of the girls-phrased it...LOL... not my analogy).
Anyway... I hadn't really realized how self-conscious this can make some women.
As people watch porn and see vids with the tighter labia set as the 'standard for sexiness", then the rest of us (men and women) decide to buy into this too... that this is how we are all supposed to look... Kind of sad really....
It actually makes me wonder (for the men out there), if they have noticed a difference in their sexual pleasure having sex with a woman with a tighter labia structure versus a more 'fleshy' one?
To answer the Q on a more personal level. I would never have it done (but I am a 'bun' anyway so there is not much to trim/alter). If a woman is seriously concerned about how hers looks, or it inhibits her sex life (or success if she is in the adult entertainment industry), then she should absolutely have that option to make whatever changes she wants to, if it will improve her self confidence.
I may not be as tight as some girls, but I do not see anything wrong with the present lay of the land down there,nor has any playmates, male or female, complained.
But is it not like all other cosmetic surgery, if it will solve the problem in your head and you have The$, why not.
But certainly if you are an entertainer, or an escort and it will maximize your cash flow, you all know the answer.
I would definitely consider, but i don't know if I'd go through with it. I'm fairly smooth as far as the outline goes, but i know i am disappointed with how it looks. I just can't stand hanging labia. I'm sorry. Anytime I see one I cringe and get disgusted: blame it on porn if you want, i've never been able to look at them.
I wouldn't - because I'm quite happy with how stuff is down there. It's neat and tidy as far as I can tell - I don't have that dangly thing where my labia dangles down outside my labia majora...
However if it wasn't neat down there I'd probably consider it, since I'm overly body-concious anyway, but I doubt I'd actually have it done...
i've wondered about having a trim perhaps but only so that my clit is perhaps more visible........BUT when i'm aroused its clearly bloody visible and if the person doenst know where to look or doenst listen when told or shown where it is then even having the outer lips trimmed wouldnt be of any help to the dumb ass LOL
Porn movies have a lot to answer for......not only is it the size, shape, colour or labs and clits, bushes etc its the whole body shape and size issue as well.
The sort of labia Australia chooses to allow is indeed lovely but it's certainly some fucked-up shit that the censors there only allow one type. Au natural women are always better than surgically altered types and it's quite horrible that they essentially shame women into surgery to "correct" their bodies.
