Actually, there is a bit of a mix-up here. There is only one human species, but there definitely are more races (genetically distinct populations of individuals) within our species.

TBH, it is even more complicated than that owing to the fact that the word race has been used rather liberaly without any definition to it.
Most scientists would say that there is only one race of hominids since the genetic variation between what we know as human races is not large enough to be classified as a race when compared to other species of mamals
