Well it really depends on your outfit? Sometimes you really need to wear them if you have a tight body fitting dress that hugs your ass, right? Otherwise you'll have totally gross panty lines. I mean if they have the right cut and nice fabric I love them since they make me fee super sexy. In general I love all sorts of lingerie and I like to mix it up so my bf doesn't know what to expect. Definitely not practical at work, generally against the dress code and poor safety if you work on a building site, steel capped boots are a must there. I guess if you're a life saver though...
And although I love laid back women that dress in comfortable clothes, footware included, I'd not go so far as to say they turn me on, with or without stockings... actually stockings with thongs sounds a little weird, and you'd have trouble getting your big toe and second toe into the thongs with them, but as I've found out being a member of this site, it takes all types...

Are you wearing the right size, then? Properly sized thongs are meant to feel like you're not wearing any underwear at all. So if you can feel your thong and/or if it makes you uncomfortable, then it's probably because it's too small.
And with thongs, you sometimes have to go a size up from your standard underwear size.

I like thongs, but I don't wear them every day. I mostly wear full cut bikinis, but when I'm on a date i'll wear a lace thong as I think they're sexy and help to show off my ass a bit better. Also, if I'm wearing a pair of snug fitting pants to work, then i'll wear a thong as well.
Thongs, to me, are slightly overrated. They do nothing to make me feel sexier or more confident - for me, that comes from working out to keep the bod that makes those skimpy numbers look good!
They do serve a practical purpose of avoiding those panty lines though... otherwise, I much prefer a nice pair of low-slung mini briefs - the cut of the Agent Provocateur piece below is perfect.x
