Not that I've had a new partner for a while, but as a responsible adult, I use them with new people. Yeah, it doesn't feel as good as unprotected, but I'd rather that than catch something. Also, condoms are fucking free and the prescriptions for contraceptive pills here is $5. So I know what I'd rather do than have a crotch goblin for the rest of my life. Free is a lot cheaper than a child.
