all,
i am new to the site and have been enjoying the stories very much--thank you all for the time and creativity that you put into your writing, and for sharing it with us!
i am tinkering with the idea of writing a seduction story. what do you think is the more difficult challenge: writing form the point of view of the seducer, or the one being seduced? the plot is a different challenge, of course, tyring to do something original yet believable.
any examples you'd like to share? thank you in advance, and please keep writing!
It depends on a couple of things for me....
First, am I telling it in first person or third person? If I'm telling it in the first person, it's easier for me to write the seduced than the seducer. I really enjoy writing that confused, aroused, swept away internal thought. I think I would have a harder time writing the closeness of first person from a seducer's perspective.
From third person, it works for me either way, because I'm backed off a little bit from the character.
Then, what are the genders? I tend to write from the female point of view. Writing from the male makes either role more challenging for me, whether seducer or seduced.
Burquette,
thank you for responding!
you make excellent points and i appreciate your input. i had originally planned on 3rd person, but i am starting to think that 1st person from the point of view of the seductee (is that a word? if not, can i claim credit?) will make the emotions felt more...palpable, perhaps.
I agree with what Burquette says. For me it is easier to write in first person for a seduction story, especially from the point of view of the seduced. Seduction stories need good characters with believable personalities. Though I have only written one story in that category, it was the most fun to write for me and I would definitely write more stories for that category. I find that adding the more 'mundane' or 'every day details' makes for a more believable story. The little things make a character. Adding background also can help establish a lot of how the characters met and become introduced, if they have a history together or if they are strangers who happen to like each other.
I also enjoy writing from the male perspective as it offers a new and enjoyable challenge for me. Women can be seducers and seductresses, but for my story I went from the male point of view as the seducer.
I wish you the best of luck with your writing and I look forward to reading what you put up.
I agree with pretty much everyone, the first person is less challenging and more intriguing. I tend to write from the viewpoint of the seducer, though, so there's that.
Check out Tension for a taste of seduction.

Hey there. I'm new to the site also, and I'm having SO much fun writing in 1st. I've written other novels before- not erotica- but always in 3rd. This POV is new and very personal. I look forward to checking out what you come up with.
Hera, Danielle, Ratchet--
thank you all so much for the feedback and the encouragement. this site has been very welcoming, whether in the forums or in the chat rooms, and i'm grateful that i have joined.
Wouldn't you rather have a nice cup of tea?
In my probably not so humble opinion, seduction should be the main element of most erotic stories no matter the category. Nothing beats a well-paced build to a climactic sexual encounter. It's unfortunate that many authors don't have the patience (or maybe skill? I don't know) to write great seduction stories - They just immediately toss their characters into bed (or the broom-closet, or washroom stall, or wherever).
Don't believe everything that you read.
You do not have to write from either view point, neither seducer or seduced. I would enjoy reading from a third person point of view. If the wife is being seduced by other than her hubby, my favourite, then the story needs to be written from the hubby,s view point and vise versa sic the wife,s point of view.
