I found some of mine at mystories4u as well. It seems that nothing is safe these days.
Quote by clum
I know seeing my stories posted elsewhere without my permission and without being credited should get me all up in arms, but it just doesn't.

About half of my stories have been stolen at one point or another, but I just find it so hard to care. And I know it's me that's the unusual one here—you guys are all absolutely right to be pissed off and to go hunting down these assholes.

*shrugs*

Best of luck to you all.

I'm with Clum! I had no idea this was going on, but I checked, and several of my stories are on those sites too. I noticed that my name and (c) are still at the bottom of the stories though, so if anyone reads these stories on these pirate sites (and I doubt if many do!), at least they know I wrote them. Once I write a story and post it ANYWHERE online, I have given it to the world. That is the nature of the internet, and being pissed-off seeing this happen may be a perfectly natural response, but it is also a bit naïve. There are greater injustices in the world which I reserve my righteous indignation for, and how many of us have pirated songs, movies, or other content from file-sharing apps? I admit that I have, so I won't be casting stones at anyone who steals my content online. Its a waste of my time, exasperation, and energy... and I've learned its non-productive to spit against the wind.
Securityslags.com (yah, they are fucking slags, all right!) have 5 of my stories as well. I have written to them also (the other two sites as well).

I will say this ... although we all know the internet if full of thieves, most of us felt very confident that lush had rolled out a hopeful anti-pirating code, which has unfortunately been broken.

I for one, will not be writing anymore (as the cheers erupt).

I am disappointed, frustrated and feel violated that my hard work is not even being acknowledged by those who have stolen and posted my stories/poems.

It feels wrong to hide my work as its already out there, and sadly someone else is taking credit for it.

Good luck to all of you writers. I for one, appreciate your hard work, as I know the care and love we writers put into our stories/poems.

(I only quoted part of you)

I'm with you.......

Ultimately, I do want my work to be enjoyed.

So if more people enjoy it, so be it.

I write from my heart and often through pain.

P.S. if they win any awards I'm throwing myself a party.

I was having a PM conversation with a friend about this and I thought I would share my feelings on the subject...

The way I see it, when I write a story and publish it in the public domain, then it's no longer mine - it becomes public property in some way - people will read it and do what they do. If there's an audio version, they can save that to listen to over and over.

I find writing cathartic, for me, it's more about getting the stuff out - once I've done that, it's served its useful purpose, it's easy to forget about it and while I like the feedback and so forth that I get here on Lush, in the grand scheme of things, if other people pinch it and read it elsewhere what does it matter? Okay, I may not get the personal credit I deserve, but at least they read what I wrote and hopefully enjoyed it?

The other thing is that, in the past, I would follow up on these websites, ask them to remove my work and sometimes they did, sometimes they didn't but no matter how often I would do this, more sites would pop up and do the same - it was like rearranging deckchairs on the Titanic, kind of pointless and the results aren't really worthwhile enough to merit either my time or my emotional investment...

I guess this must be how musicians and bands feel when people download their music without paying? Or when people share stuff on FB without crediting the original poster or person who made/wrote it...

As for stopping writing and contributing? Well, I don't get paid for it, it's not like they're stealing from my purse. I just do it because I want to, it's a hobby. I'll keep writing here because it does me good and also because people seem to enjoy what I post - if they enjoy it somewhere else without my say so, well, that does suck a bit, but at least they're still reading it... The only person I'd be punishing by not writing would be myself.

Anyway, those are my thoughts.
Shit!

With that said the mystories4u site has several of mine too, my "Some Day" stories. I haven't thought I was that good either but one was a recommended read. They do not have my name or copywriter stuff but I did call them "DickWeasels" so I feel moderately better. I intend to pursue it for a bit but I will NOT let it change me. If I do then they are controlling my life and that's intolerable to me.

I am in control and it will be a very cold approach. I do agree that it's probably a wasted effort because whats causing this is one of the better things about the internet, absolute freedom. I do think there should be some rules but have a problem with who gets to make them.

How do we get to the stories on fantas.com? All I can get is the adult site and it's garbage like all the others.

Maybe a "denial of service" is worth a try but it'll have to be a bunch of people involved. Not something that should be promoted from here but a blog entry or two might start something.

I agree with Mazza, Bethany and others that it's a useless task. I will not waste any effort on it because then they're in control again. The bastards at mystories took my name off though.
I am always a gentleman.

I agree with you. I can understand how one can be hurt but don't let them steal your creativity through anger.

That's letting them win, IMO.
Like Poppet all my stories and most of my poems are stolen.

I do think I will be taking down anything they have not stolen yet.

I am just sick over this.
FYI - Make sure to check your stories in search for www.mystories4u.com

Just because they don't show in the category does not mean they are not there.

All my poems and all stories written in June and above are all there.

Anything I have just written is not there YET!!!!

Bravo for being so ..... understanding to those who steal from you.

I don't see "at least they're still reading it" as any type of consolation for the effort one puts into their original works.

By not writing, I do not see it as "Punishing myself" .... contrary .... paraphrasing LaserDaddy [sorry LaserDaddy] .... "I will not waste any effort on" .... writing for it only to be stolen without even an acknowledgement.

Fuck that noise.
I've had time to think & reflect on my stuff being stolen.

It does piss me off. But in the end what can I do about it? I have enough stress in my life that I don’t need to add more.

Actually to be grouped with such talent like D_D, Sprite & Poppet is a huge honor.

I don’t know who you are but if you're reading this thank you for getting my work out to people who may not have read it otherwise.

Aren't you kind!!!

And being grouped with the likes of Dancing_Doll, Sprite & Poppet .... you must be OVER the moon with glee!!

Maybe the pirates will steal more of your stories/works ... and you can keep thanking them from afar!!

After I had a chance to think things over, and having a PM conversation with a friend. I also want to thank clum for making me see the big picture along with others in this forum.

I will not let others determine if I should write or not!!

SO I'M WRITING ON!! smilesmile

You've reached your own conclusions and made your own decisions, and others have done the same.

That's the spirit! I admit, finding my works spread all over the internet had me in quite a bad mood yesterday, and looking up laws and legal processes to tackle copyright violations in different countries didn't improve it. If it hadn't been for a wonderful person who took my mind away from it and to a far more pleasurable place, I'd probably have been sulking and steaming all evening (and night). Now, after a good night's sleep and days work, things have shifted into perspective.

Let's be realistic. People will always copy things they like and share them. A few of them will even try to make profit, however meager that is. But all the plagiarist websites together won't get the views we get here on Lush and, even more importantly, the intelligent, appreciative readers who come here. Let's not let idiots dictate whether we write or not, and most of all, let's not let them dictate how we feel. Life's too short to get hurt by these pitiable little fuckers.

Simple answer to all of this: TEQUILA!!

After telling these skeevy people what's what, of course. Can't do that all un-sober and whatnot.

I too have been .... word ripped.
Who'd thunk ( faint ) my words were worth the off of a rip.
To be used and put elsewhere ( laughing ) even the Lush rejected ones are there too.

Am I .... upset?
Am I .... mad?
No.

My thoughts. My words .... have been online since 2000.
I have had my words ( used ).
I have had headings ( borrowed ).
I have had this avatar and of others ( used ).
By others.

I myself have used:
Word parts of song.
A poem line or two in real life.
Clips from movies.
A line from a book.

In real life in just passing of conversation of everyday life.

Did I.
Have I.
Stood up and scream out .... this is by so and so.
No.

Why?
Because I would look pretty fudging fig stupid.
Standing in the middle of a street.
Stopping my vehicle in traffic.
Etc.
Giving of author, copyright, etc.

If you have not electronically digitally formatted, have of documentation copyright by a lawyer, with a lawyer on public published writings.
You are sadly out of luck, out of options of your words continuing as your words and your words alone.

I would like to add ....
Anyone can see the site of steal ( mystories4u ) is a robotic generated faux pas of hot air. There are no comments. There are no followers.
There is nothing there but the words of others. 2805 pages of copied poems. Started .... May 1, 2014.

My surmise is this.
I think it was mention in forums somewhere of a member going from read to read and low scoring.
Making of rude and such comments on said reads.

I think I also read in the forums that this member's IP address was of a try in being blocked, perhaps finally being blocked.
Had been snapped up each time this said member was of find on Lush.
( but .... who is to say it did not do of other things while here ) So .... me thinks there is your steal, your thief.

This is only my surmise, my opinion.
Please kick me softly, I has had a loooong day so far.
( skipping off to find my coffee cup, lost it again ).

THANK YOU!! This does help me feel better along with what others have said here. Plus doing yard work all morning made me think and realize there are more important things in life to be concerned about.

I've yet to see any of my stuff over there, but oh well if it happens. I'm not that concerned about it.

yes I am looking at the positive side of a shitty situation. You know why?

if I stress over this on top of everything I have going on in my life the chances of me using again go up considerably. I will not let my sobriety be put in jeopardy by anyone. I Have worked to long and to hard to get where I am.
I just tried to get on mystories4u.com

It said the site is closed. Maybe all of these emails have warranted somebody to look into it further.

I'm sure it was closed as a direct result of those emails.

Contacting the domain directly is the most productive thing you can do. And, to be repetitive, there's strength in numbers.

Hey VG, it's not a question of being understanding towards the thieves, more of an understanding that this problem is rife over the internet and that there's not much I can do about it alone.

If it's online, then it can be stolen. Whether Lush has safeguards in place or not, there are always new ways around things and I am sure that Lush will do their level best to keep up to speed with this.

Will I contact some of these sites and ask them to remove my content?

Yes, of course, but there are so many sites where my work has been posted, it really is like trying to stop the tide.

Will I continue to support Lush, not only with my investment in gold membership/gifts etc, but with my writing, forum contributions and so on?

Yes, I will and I am also aware that Nicola and the team DO look out for us writers as a collective group, their family so to speak, and follow up complaints and champion our cause against sites who continue to plagiarise our work.

BUT the problem is endemic, not just in the erotic fiction sphere, but everywhere on the internet. Hopefully the law will catch up with the speed at which our virtual playground has evolved, but until such times, and given that it is a global playground and laws vary from place to place, we may be waiting for some time.

I think that our best bet is to stick together on places like this and use our collective voice to try and make a difference.

As for writing. Were I to stop, because people had pinched my work, well that would mean that a huge creative outlet, one I've come to rely on to vent and have fun, would be stymied. To me that would be a punishment, cutting off my nose to spite my face.

I do not wish to do that, so I will continue to post sporadically, given that I've had little time to do much else of late.

To the others who quoted me, thanks guys.
