Do you get aroused when reading your own stories?

writing the story makes me red hot, because I only write actual happenings, however, there is a while after it's done when I'm "numb" to it, doesn't affect me at all. After a few weeks the "buzz" comes back.
In my case, definitely! I write my stories for me, they start off as fantasies long before they get written down. Of course, sometimes it takes months to finish typing the story, because i can't keep my hands on the keyboard long enough. (Also I'm a spelling and grammar perfectionist, so will often revise, revise, revise a month or two after it's finished.)

I haven't moved my stories here yet; the link on my profile will take you to "that other site".

A weak answer is, " sometimes" but that is the case for me. If it is about a modified real life event I quite often do. However, if I am writing a complex story off my story board I am usually too involved with the mechanics, crafting and editing to be aroused. Soooo, answer is sometimes.
I get aroused reading my stories, and writing my stories...
I rarely re read my own stories but as they are all based on real life experiences, yes reading and writing them gets me extremely aroused.
Sometimes. But as many have stated, because I know what's coming, it's not as arousing as something that is more surprising.
As some of my stories are based on actual events or an elaboration of events in our life, both my wife and I get turned on reading my own stories. Some of my stories are also mutual fantasies for us both that we hope to realise one day.

So the simple answer is, yes. We both do.

It doesn't normally, but writing the second chapter of my story is hot. I'm almost done and I'll submit it soon.
When the scenes get nasty, of course! I tend to write when I'm aroused anyway so it flows better.

-Oooze like Charlott here I guess because i can't keep my hands on the keyboard long enough.

Never mind reading them, I certainly get aroused when writing them, in fact the juiciest bits are often written in the shower when I'm 'fantasising'
I only get aroused when I'm writing them. I never look at my story again once it's published. Only, to thank people who read my story. But, I don't sit and reread them.

In fact, since I have written so many, I have to glance at them to make sure I didn't write that scene before.

If my stories arouse me while I'm writing them, I do know that others will be attracted to them too.

I sometimes read my stories again when they are commented upon by others. If I did a good job (and I usually do) I do, indeed, become aroused.

So, do you? I certainly don't. But it would help knowing if I was a lone case or not.

Sometimes I do. I've written some pretty decent stuff!
Absolutely--It is reliving the TRUE stories--great memories and good mental pictures
Less so when I'm reading my own stories than when reading someone else's. I suppose it's because I know what's next.
When I'm writing or editing, I have too many other things to think about to get aroused.

I do when I think them up. But when it comes to writing them down, including the dozens of times I read them over to make sure they're right, not at all.

However, when I've revisited some of my stories after a long time away, I have begun to feel the tingle of arousal while reading. Certainly nothing full bore to drop the strides over, but a bit of a thrill regardless.

This is exactly how it is for me. When I'm dreaming them up and writing an outline it gets my motor running. Yet when I get into the writing and rewriting it doesn't excite me at all. If anything it is a struggle to get my ideas on paper.

When I do read revisit them they get me aroused. It also excites me reading comments by readers who like my stories.
Sometimes. If it's been a while.
I certainly get aroused when writing them, I would be worried if it were otherwise, but once they are published it is time to move on. It is nice to read the comments however, and to know that they have the desired effect on others.
YES!...precisely because i am trying my best to describe a hot sexual fantasy I may be having that week in as much detail and resolution as I can....If you can describe any action sequence of any activity well and in detail you are on the way to being a good writer. sex is a topic i felt i needed to work on and damn its a LOT of hot fun!.
Writing erotica's supposed to be fun and arousing. It's a way to express our fantasies and I love it ;)
As others have said, I tend to write the most when I'm feeling frisky anyway. And I agree that rewrites don't tend to be too thrilling. But yes, I do get turned on

As an aside, I've also had some interesting reactions to old stories. Since I tend to get the most kick out of group sex stories with both male and female bisexual play, that's the kind of search I do most often. Every now and then one of my own stories pops up in that search on other sites and I almost always choose that one for my reading enjoyment. And they never fail to get my libido in high gear. Guess that's the narcissist coming out.
I tend to write erotic scenes that turn me on, so yeah. But I'd rather read someone else's piece--I may not actually know what's going to happen, so it's more exciting.
I read my own work because I know that I'm going to find it arousing - these are, after all, my own fantasies. The stories of other authors are hit or miss. With my own stuff, it's kind of guaranteed to be good - at least for me. Not saying I'm objectively better at writing, story-telling, or eroticism than anyone else on the site, but I do know better than anyone the kind of things that turn me on.

Don't believe everything that you read.

I've been thinking more about this and I think the reason my own stories don't tun me on is related to the idea that you can't tickle yourself.
