Codpieces or other attire to enhance the "bulge" would likely be de rigeur for the guys, much like clothing that enhances the bosom has been for women in our world.
Maybe men would be forbidden to go topless and topless men are a scandalous part of softcore female-focussed porn? Women getting thrilled at the mere sight of a male nipple?
Hmm. Maybe 19th or early 20th century formal attire is very much in vogue for the men while women tend to dress more "modern." Men dressing up to go out shopping and stuff like women of my mother's generation did.
Trust people to be themselves...
Anything that accentuates our shoulders, chest and arms for a start. Also, anything putting emphasis on our bulges and behinds.
I think of next-to-naked stuff - which emphasizes muscles- harness, bodysuit thong - singlet. Stuff I'd actually like women to enjoy seeing me in, assuming I had the body to show! I wouldn't want to live in the world you describe, but think many/most/all men want to be sexual objects - so this stuff is out there, but mostly addressed to gay community.
Interesting idea. There could be all kinds of things.
Sweat. Generally, men sweat more than women. My wife is severely put off by sweat, but may be some don't mind, or even like it. Either way, controlling it is likely to be valued. Antiperspirants don't work for everyone. Maybe in your world there are medical alternatives.
Grooming. The other day, a friend was pointing out how over-groomed Rylan Clark-Neal is. Maybe that's a thing. Meticulous hair, beard, or possibly even styled pubic hair.
Fashion may be about exposing muscle, but not everyone likes that. Still, they would have magazines where the men on them almost always fit a stereotype even if the majority don't actually want that. So, maybe men wear things under their clothes that make them look more muscular. More serious men spend time at the gym, if not to build muscle, at least to keep the fat off. Of course, there will be those who gave up long ago.
What about entertainment. There must be a dating show on tv where the men have to perform tasks to get the woman to choose them for mating. Would she prefer physical stamina, someone who can keep her house spotless. Or if she wants a child, perhaps intelligence would be a factor.
Intelligence must be a factor for reproduction. Maybe there are specific areas men are guided to work if they show sufficient mental capacity, but there could be hard limits with jobs that men are never allowed to have.
I'm sure your world has the technology to surgically enhance a man's penis. If not to make it larger, maybe they do other things like give them ridges or use piercings to string beads along the shaft for enhanced pleasure. That may be uncomfortable for the man, but the ladies don't mind.
Perhaps a woman in need is allowed to grab a man on the street, jab him with an epipen, which instead of alergy medication will give him an instant erection. They probably have booths for privacy on every street corner for this, a bit like a phone booth, but without the glass windows.
Oh, didn't one of the guys in the band Kiss cut the part under his tongue so he could stick his tongue out farther? Would that impress a woman? Maybe women talk about men licking them the way guys talk about blowjobs all the time. Then there is the division between women about whether they do or don't want a mustache tickling their clit.
Thanks everyone for the input. I'm still working on this idea but it is more in the development stages.
What I am considering is a future setting that is based in an analog of a high school/college prep, with the exception that the students reach their majority age (the age of legal consent) by their junior year. This is expressly so that the female students can begin to express their dominance in an appropriate and relatively safe environment. Male students are under intense pressure to conform, but at the same time to resist the advances of the female students while preserving their 'purity'. Men are seen as slaves to their passions. Rather than physically weaker, physical strength is seen as inferior to emotional strength. Men are not allowed to touch women without express consent, even if the woman touches them first. Aggression toward women is a capital offense.
Males are under hyper-scrutiny as far as dress and grooming (thanks, Spooge!), with dress varying from formal suits to kilts. (The idea here is that men who are still virgins are allowed to wear pants. Unmarried men who are not virgins must wear kilts, wraps, or some type of skirt, signifying that they have surrendered control of their bodies. If a woman claims to have laid a man, it is assumed to be true; a man's testimony is invalid.) Intelligence and submissiveness are prime qualities, as is physical strength. Penis size isn't emphasized or all that important. Smaller cocks (not micro-penises) are considered more aesthetically pleasing, whereas big cocks are frowned upon. Men who lose their virginity lose social status, especially if the woman who took their virginity dismisses them, which isn't unusual. When this happens, some men turn to various modifications and enhancements, from the aforementioned cock and modifications to various types of plastic surgeries, all in an attempt to gain the attention of women.
Women are allowed to be brash. They aren't under the same pressure to by hyper-groomed, and are encouraged to sow their wild oats. Girls will be girls. Missionary position is extremely . Woman on top is standard. Fellatio is , whereas cunnilingus is prized. It isn't uncommon for girls to talk openly about which guys 'put out'.
That's the general idea, with a dose of the supernatural sprinkled on top.
What do you think?
Hi wigglebiscuit,
And welcome to the Forum!
A lot depends on how strict this society is. Robert Heinlein's "The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress" posits a society where men outnumber women by 7- to 10 times to 1, with the result that women have all the choices about mating, and men have none, but it's not as strict as what you are proposing.
I have a small number of things to add to the thoughtful comments already made. First, from my reading of this site, women tend to not prize men with long cocks, because "bottoming out" can be uncomfortable or even painful, but seem to prize thickness (up to a point) for the increased sensation. I wouldn't know; I've never made a concerted study, but that seems to be the concensus on other threads. If that's the case, then the thickness of a guy's dick would be important, and, the configuration of the "bulge" would be an important way to show that, much like the codpieces of earlier eras in real history. I would think in your society, this would be dramatically emphasized, much as guys in our society talk about "racks", and flatter-chested women look to padded bras, or even boob enhancement.
Next, you've mentioned kilts, and I think that's a good direction, likewise sarongs or lava-lavas, or even the short togas men wore in ancient Greece (as opposed to the longer ones women wore) – dress where quick and easy access, plus the ability to expose or flash is much easier, would be very popular, certainly among men trying to attract women. As someone who owns, and occasionally does wear a kilt, not wearing underwear is something that women almost invariably comment on or ask about, even in the politest of gatherings.
One issue you haven't mentioned is birth control (and STDs). Perhaps men would be required to undergo reversable sterilization, like a vasectomy with a reversible valve (ahem, a stop-cock) once they reach puberty. Presumably most doctors would be women, and men would have to submit to coming-of-age examinations by female physicians, which they would find intensely embarrassing – and might be sexually abused by less ethical practitioners.
And how would men be penalized if a woman did get pregnant? You will need to find a way to leave them literally holding the baby in your scenario. Maybe they will also need to have hormone therapy so they can suckle rather than having women burdened with this?
Interesting speculation. And I also find it fascinating that it is almost exclusively men who are commenting…
Just sayin'.
Let us know what and when you publish, eh?
Thanks, and good luck,
James

I had this flash image of the Hunger Games but the winner is nothing more than a sexual tool. I'd think there would be a broad variety of attire/grooming but that sort of applies today's standard in that I'm thinking the women would have a variety of tastes and there is no set 'uniform' for the males. If i think more about this as developing over centuries I'd see the attire and grooming standards more unified. Its a great premise. It would make a great historical series too but sounds like you already have some interesting ideas. Make sure you post us a link here.
