I often had fantasies based on the hints of sexuality we got in mainstream media properties back then. Starbuck with Cassiopeia and Athena in the original Battlestar Galactica comes to mind. Fair enough. It's been ages since I've read him, and let's just say that my perspective on those problems has matured considerably from when I first encountered his work, and now they're far more of a turn-off than they used to be.

I can't remember what they were called, but they were two Black Lace books that were included as a free gift in a magazine I bought in the mid 1990s. I was flying to Canada on tour and didn't realise what they were until I was on the plane. I didn't dare read them until I was away from the rest of the group, but let’s just say the experience was something of a revelation!

I can't remember much about them but I seem to remember they were historical mini novels. One scene of a woman being secretly watched enjoying a slow, leisurely fuck particularly stood out.

I was so naive, I had no idea such books existed and was shocked that they would be included in a mainstream women’s magazine! 🤣

Never had the slightest interest in Fifty Shades. Dominance, submission, bondage, humiliation, control, power dynamics, whatever you want to call them, are active turnoffs for me.
