I intend to write a new story. The story consists of a woman meeting a man while she is currently dating another one. I want to make this story into a series of parts but I do not want to include full on sex in the first story just yearning, maybe a little masturbation. Would the story be readable or should I just move it to masturbation and place the next part in love stories?
Please do not PM me for XXX chat or to exchange nude photos.

I would read the regular romantic storyline. My voice is for doing what you want.

Kitkat, I'm one of the Mods here, so I'll show you the description of the Love Story category:

For all you romantics out there, here is our love stories section. These are stories of romance and love, which are generally on a deeper relationship level than stories in other categories. This story category focuses on falling in love, being in love, and developing a loving relationship.

For the other story categories, make sure the chapter has some form of sex in it.

no they dont maybe some heavy petting but not full blown sex

Your approach in building up to a terrific love scene is quite appropriate. Sometimes the anticipation that comes as the story builds just makes the love scenes more exciting. There are so many stories that just start out with clothes being ripped off and being pinned against the wall, yada yada yada. Sorta like watching a porn video.....lacks plot and seems so "typical" . Looking forward to your story.

i love a big build up to the sexual parts of the story

Not at all the lovers in Arnold Bennetts Anna of the Five Towns never even kissed. Whatsmore you never even knew they were lovers until the last few pages. The last chapter is hauntingly beautiful.

No...love stories do not have to have sex. But then again, sex stories don't have to have love either.

In the main, I don't think love stories *should* have sex. I think a love story should be more about emotions, anticipation, insinuation and so on. Once there is sex, it becomes a "sex story" more so than a "love story". Of course there is never going to be a hard and fast rule - often sex can be portrayed as an act of love rather than lust. Maybe that's a particularly male perspective, but it's my view.

I struggled with this when deciding what category to place my story in. My intention is definitely to progress toward a love story in later instalments, but I wonder if I should have put it in the 'Straight Sex' category anyway. At any rate, if there is no sex in the story at all, there seems to be no doubt it should come under Love Story to me.

Good luck writing any kind of story on lush that doesn't have some form of sex in it..I wrote a series of stories that had very little sex in them to see what would happen.. and the majority of people didn't like them. Not all people of course but the numbers proved that lush is a sex site.. if you want to post a true love story with no sex in it..maybe you should look into other sites.. Good luck.

NO!!!! (wait, let me stomp my foot to really make that point)

I firmly beleive that love stories need not have sex or even masturbation or even petting in them to be a good erotic story.

The anticipation... the build up... the expectation... the desire... all those what if's that run through your head from that first look across a room, that feeling you get the first time his hand brushes the bare skin over your arm... to build a story around this, to drag your reader by their teeth and nails to get them captivated by your words alone... to put off the body to stimulate the mind and heart... this is what separates a good erotic writer from a smut writer.

To put feelings to words, to explain the passion, the desire and the need for his (ok hers too) touch.... the buildup behind it all... that is the story for me. Not the sex.

PM me with the link to your story when its published... if you can do it... I want to read it!!!!!
Living life and enjoying life are two different things... just need to figure out how to do both at the same time to live it right!

This is very true, but it comes with one caveat, these stories are harder to craft because the writing needs to be good to convey the love--or I should say they need to be stronger than a plain straight sex story to be profound and to achieve the good erotic story. Not to discourage anyone.

I was having an argument with someone else yesterday actually about that very same topic. I claimed that writing a solid romance story that moves a person is just as difficult as writing an erotically sexual story that arouses a person. The person I was arguing with said that writing an erotically sexual story is much more difficult than writing a solid romance story.

A story, written by a story teller will be good no matter if it has sex in it or not.

The hard part is just learning how to become a story teller!!!

This is true with all writing!

Love stories do not need to have sex. To give an example; try reading Mindsparks' story. And although there are hints of arousal in most of the chapters, it has been so beautifully written that I just had to read all eight chapters. I am not going to divulge the story-line; suffice to say that this is a very good example of a story based on love, romance and the passionate emotions of the characters without the author feeling the need to squeeze a sexual scene into every chapter - A very satisfying read .....and with that; I wish you all the best on your new story and look forward to seeing it being published here.

There are no rules saying they have to have sex. It's about the emotion of love. If the reader wants to take if further in his/her mind, then, well, that's what a lot of loves stories are about in the first place, in my opinion anyway. I look forward to reading it.

Either is fine. I do write sex into a love story and have written love stories that are mostly sex. Sex and love are a great combination and turn me on quite a bit.
