The scene in "Field of Dreams" where the little boy ("Rookie!") steps off of the field and transforms into the elderly physician, to save the little girl from choking, and then the whole cast--the "ghost" players, and those off the Field--realises that he can never go back.

That pause before the little boy steps across the baseline always kills me. And I invariably tear up when "Doc" crosses back across the Field and disappears into the cornfield, with hails from the "ghost" players.

Dredd (2012): The future America is an irradiated waste land. On its East Coast, running from Boston to Washington DC, lies Mega City One - a vast, violent metropolis where criminals rule the chaotic streets. The only force of order lies with the urban cops called "Judges" who possess the combined powers of judge, jury and instant executioner. Known and feared throughout the city, Dredd is the ultimate Judge. And was a low budget remake of the Sylvester Stallone bomb that rocked and kept the story as it should have been.

Im still sticking to my original choices.

Sgt. Elias' scene when he is trying to make the chopper in "Platoon" (1986)

Several scenes in "Tears of the Sun". When they pass over the compound in the helicopter and everyone left has been slaughtered. When they make the decision to take the Indigenous Africans with them and that last battle scene. I've seen it a thousand times and I still cry, scream, swear and cheer.

The funeral scene in "Imitation of Life".

The scene where Barbara Streisand gets Robert Redford to come back because she can't sleep and the last scene in "The Way We Were".

When Billie D. Williams says, "You gonna'let my hand fall off," in "Lady Sings the Blues"

When Holly tries to find Cat in the Rain in "Breakfast at Tiffany's".

Every scene in "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof", with Paul Newman and Elizabeth Tayler. But, I love it when Big Daddy says that line, "You have the audacity..." That's my favorite line. I was 9 yrs. old the first time I saw that film; I used every opportunity under the sun to use the word audacity (with his accent) that year.

"Last of the Mohicans". "I will find you." Beautiful stuff there. Oh and, that night when (I don't care what anyone says) they had sex.

The subway scene in "Shame". There are no words, just looks. So sexy.

Okay, that's enough.

Classic Iconic Moment in Film History'

"I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti." It's one of the most quoted lines in film history and appreciated for the malevolent calmness of Sir Anthony Hopkins' delivery.

But Dr Lecter's choice of sides weren't based on his taste predilections, he was making a medical joke.

Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) could have been used to treat him, and what are the three things you're not allowed to eat while taking them? Liver, beans and wine.

Jonathan Demme uses this effect often. By framing a character in a close up in the center of the frame and having them look into the lens, the audience feels as if the character is looking directly at them. It has the psychological sense of someone coming into one's personal space. Silence of the Lambs as well as some of his other films, Philadelphia & Manchurian Candidate, use this technique.

That is a great line, but the word "again" is not part of it. Here's the scene.

Agreed - but it is a very common misconception.
I think the words were "Play it - Play it for me."

That movie is chock full of terrific scenes. It is hard to believe that the studio's first choice to play Rick was Ronald Reagan.

Doomsday (2008): A lethal virus spreads throughout Scotland, infecting millions and killing hundreds of thousands. To contain the threat, acting authorities brutally quarantine the country as it succumbs to fear and chaos. The quarantine is successful. Three decades later, the Reaper virus violently resurfaces in London.

The head crawling scene(and the moments leading up to it)in John Carpenter's 1982 version of The Thing. That particular special effect was both amazing and terrifying.
