Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, ...and Spring
Games of thrones. It is not a movie but I never expected such a strong plot/story from a TV drama until I see it.
500 Days of Summer -
Zoey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are really great in that one.
August Rush
Nothing alike, just both have to do with the same season
I have three famous stories, 2 recommended reads and have come in the top ten in two competitions~ Come in and make yourself at home.
I origins - I loved this movie so much. It still had me thinking about it for days after I'd seen it.
Only lovers left alive
Stoker
tucker and dale vs evil
Byzantium
Pride...maybe not brilliant, but a great story nonetheless. (London gay activists help the Welsh coal miners). Worth a watch.
The Commitments - fucking brilliant!
A Simple Plan. Ranks among the best movies ever made about the corrupting power of greed.
Warrior, I'm not a MMA fan,but this movie was great.
New movie Arrival looks like it is going to be great. The reviews are glowing!
There's this Japanese movie called Desu Nota (Death Note) -- crazy, awesome movie
Also there's this psychological drama Perfume -- eerily, creepy good
And when I first watched Butterfly Effect it was like ugh!
And who can forget Princess Bride? I though it was gonna be sappy but then "My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die"
And I've almost forgotten 3 Idiots -- Hindi movie that have me cried my eyes and heart out
Miracle in Cell No.7 -- Gosh, kinda like I Am Sam. The kid's cry would rip your heart out
Gojira, the original Japanese Godzilla. While the series has ranged from good to terrible and serious to silly, the original stands by itself.
It's a powerful fable for the atomic age combined with a family drama as a scientist, his daughter, and her two suitors are all caught up the destructive rampage by everyone's favorite metaphor for nuclear weapons. The daughter's love triangle ends up playing a key role in the resolution.
Godzilla, King of the Monsters, the American re-edit, came a couple years later and also does a good job but the spliced in scenes featuring Raymond Burr as an American reporter covering the story kind of break up the flow and required cutting some other, better, scenes from the Japanese version and also re-ordered things a bit awkwardly.
