A lot of old bands become cool again. The Velvet Underground seems to find a new audience in every generation. Disco died and was resurrected in electronic dance music. Al Green, Marvin Gaye, and Curtis Mayfield (long exiled to dental office soft rock radio) are getting rediscovered by kids with parents with cool record collections.
So what band is most deserving of a revival? Which 20th century group would fit into the 21st century zeitgeist?
For me, it's Supertramp. Just a great group of songwriters who put out a series of incredible records that never really fit easily into any traditional rock subgenre, and have been underrated in rock history though never entirely forgotten or dismissed. Supertramp is the next Queen.
Wouldn't you rather have a nice cup of tea?
