I read it once - that's all I could manage. It was good for some parts, not good for others. . . I didn't like Ana but did like Christian - and felt hte author was desperate to keep going even though the story resolved itself much sooner in my mind.

not exactly a good example of a bdsm relationship. my wife read it. she said it was fairly comical, in fact.

I thought it was pretty good. The sex parts weren't bad but the whole plot about money and car-chases and bad guys was too OTT. For turning me on, it was good. For a book, it was crap.

I have to like the main character in a story to be turned on - 50 Shades did absolutely nothing for me.

I've read these books twice..

This has always been a hard one for me.

For the whole factor of the BDSM thing is a damn joke. That is NOT BDSM at all. It’s just a little kink in the bedroom. -.-
For the fact its three books is a joke, because this is all written in the mere matter of months, and all this happened is stupid. You meet a boy, you like a boy, you submit to boy, top the boy, kick the bdsm out all together, break up, get back together, fight, ignore each other, car chases, kidnappings, attempted (unspeakable), crazy exes, overly rich man, blue collar girl, let’s not forget she’s a virgin, of course. The sex isn’t bad, but the odds of a couple orgasming together every single time together at the same time, is impossible. The whole talking in her head was kind of cool but everything was Oh my, Oh god. That was also a bit dumb.

The books HAVE positional, if it was written by someone who knew how to actually write and not just throw words together.

And how annoying that she gets Christian, bestie gets older brother, and her guy friend gets the sister. Gag me. Except poor Jose who gets no one, except throw up on his shoes.

hehe smile

The whole point behind Christian's motives is to take Ana and turn her INTO a submissive with a 100% submissive relationship.

Which does not happen. He falls in love with a woman who looks like his mother, instead.

His approach - as he mentioned to her at some point - was to ease her into it slowly, starting with 'kinky fuckery' as he calls it - and then bringing in the heavier things as she slowly comes to accept everything.

At some point he tells her "I don't think you have a submissive bone in your body"

I would have loved it if they kept going into the BDSM lifestyle (as I believe ahead of time that they were going to do) - rather than him doing a 180 and becoming a cured, normal guy. As the story went on I lost more and more interest.

But hey - what do you expect from a twilight fanfiction spinoff?

It did make me want to find serious BDSM novels, though - deep. well written - and they do NOT exist.

In fact, as far as the sex scenes go - a lot of the 'BDSM' novels I read were written more poorly than 50 Shades. . . horrid shit is out there and it comes at a cost of $4.99 and up I was hoping to find a good one that really digs in deep to the characters/lifestyle/reasons/issues - and gave up. None of it is real BDSM - all of it is written by women who just want that kinky fuckery.

The real Doms and Subs are too tied up for that.

It was a bad book. None of this stuff happens in real life. Ana is willing to do anything for Christian and she's too desperate. I mean honestly, it wasn't bdsm at ALL. So yeah, Ana is a pushover and Christian is twisted and messed up.

SweetPenny is another Lush writer who writes wonderful bdsm stories, so i'd suggest checking out her work as well.

I actually enjoyed them. I know they are poorly written and a little over the top but I thought the sex was great.

Wife just finished reading them. She loved book 2 but thought the others were so, so and was kind of disappointed with the ending. She then accused me of being 'Christian' - still trying to work out if that is a compliment or not

It was a very quick read for me, I was addicted. It was actually what turned me onto the whole "sex stories" idea. I'd not be on lush had I not read them. But I have to admit reading it once was enough for me.

My sex shoppe was out of it so they convinced me that Bared To You was just as hot.

El Wrongo. I gave up about 2/3 of the way in. I can't relate to mega rich folks unless they're Rednecks who won the Lottery or Power Ball. Not enough sex to keep my interest.

I wasted $16. I coulda bought ALMOST A BRICK OF AMMO.GRFJTg6Cea2x3FPY

The Bared to You and following books were ok. After reading 50 it was awesome to read something from a sexually experienced woman. Just like with 50 - I thought those books started well but should have ended much earlier in the story. I liked their office- related drama and exchanges but couldn't stand the whole 'look at me, I'm a victim' aspect.

I absolutely hated them (stopped half way into the second one, don't know why I even went so far).
She: virgin (of course) who never did as much as masturbate. Just not interested in sex until *he* comes along. Of course, she's rather poor but supposed to be smart and witty. And pretty. Of course. Cinderella.
He: very rich. Very traumatised, heart of gold (obviously) beneath his apparent need to dominate. She is the only one who ever ever got through to him.
A really poor Cinderella re-writing. The poor but oh so lovely woman who is the only one who can save this poor rich wretch from the hell of bdsm he's trapped into. And they cum together all the time. Of course. And they're going to get married even thought there are evil dragons outside threatening their lives and happiness.
The writing is poor, the sex didn't turn me on because I found it rather ridiculous, the whole thing is not credible even one second (and I need a bit of realism to be able to go along with a story).
If anyone could explain to me why this crap has such a huge commercial success? Why this series and not something a bit more... (whatever adjective you want).
Now I have to go and find a good story to read on here... just to get those bloody flower-pink-girly-dream-butterscotch-marshmallow sex out of my mind again... :-)

What - you don't like Ben and Jerry's and Ana?

She got an A+ for her stellar first ever deepthroat blowjob, too - don't forget that.

One thing I can't stand (aside immature and sexually inexperienced women who are afraid of sex, not liking sex, being afraid to see their partner naked) is a lack of orgasm - yes, they must cum and cum often with all sorts of togetherness and impossible passion.

And if he can get it up more than once - I'm totally thrilled. It's a bonus if he's a sex God. . . but I'll take the Devil, too - he knows how to fuck good, as well ;) But I did think it was ridiculous that 50 could get off countless times. LOL - like he was cumbeer always on tap.

After the seriousness of the sex in the book wore off for me (maybe after his submissive scene at some point) I remember laughing at some of the sex and how it played out.

I think the reason why I just can't help but like Christian in the beginning though the rest of the story and Ana can go to hell and I wouldn't miss it - is that he reminds me so much of my husband. When I read 50 my husband was deployed. . . that heavily taints my opinion on things.

During one deployment I became obsessed with that stupid god aweful movie Titanic and I cried and cried and cried - and now that movie peeves me off to no end, I hate it. LOL . . . and heaven forbid when I was drunk during another deployment and wrote Henry Rollins this long ass cheesy love letter and he wrote me back - I watched all of his standup too see how alike my husband and him were. . . they look alike, same jokes, and full of funny curmudgeonly ways.

(and now I'm officially insane)

Oh well, now I have a rather strange vision about what your husband could be like.

HAY TARA...Don't sugar coat it or nuttin huh?? Tell us all how you REALLY FEEL??!!?

I started reading Bared To You since my sex shop was outta 50 shades of gray. Now I thot BTY sucked. Not enuf sex. WAY TOO MUCH SUCK DRAMA. Plus I just can't relate to rich hoytee toytea people. In all my born days I never ever remember putting down a book and not finishing a book I was reading. I mean Hell's Bells I LOVE TO READ!!!!!

After reading your review I got half a notion to check out 50 shades. 'Cept for one thang...No way I'm dropping 16 FRN's for another POS. I'd much rather spend the $$$ on one of those Mystery 3 pax of smut.

It was a sad day for America when mags like Naughty Neighbors, Barely Legal, Eighteen, Mayfair or Club International stopped being sold as singles and only available as over priced 3 and 4 packs of mystery porno mags.

WOW Tara85 I don't think I got enuf guts to grit it out having my lover overseas in the Armed Forces. You got GRIT Lady. You got some serious John Wayne spirit in ya. That's a compliment BTW. HUA

I opened one of the books, I think it was the first one, read one sentence closed the book and never touched it again.

" 'Your quite the disciplinarian,' she hiss"

I can't stand a book with errors like that, takes me out of the story for a long portion of the book. Considering how popular it was, how could she not have gotten an editor to fix it? All I know was that it was a Twilight fan-fiction, which evolved to a trilogy.

The only reason I can think of for it to be this popular is because it had the right publisher, advertisement, title, and cover art/photo. Similar reasons why Harry Potter and Twilight become really popular.

Worst thing I ever attempted to read! Waste of time. First, it was based on a fan fiction on Twilight, so of course it's going to suck...pun not intended. Second, the characters were an absolute bore. Third, the sex scene made me want to

It was like Ms Pacman going with .
