I use my key on the lock
Remembering our life together
As I go through my trinket box
The box sits on my dresser
A picture of our wedding day
I can feel the happiness shared
We stood in the archway
It's where our love was declared
I see jewelry that you gave to me
I think about when you proposed
I can feel the joy and the glee
Our lives starting to unfold
Napkins and other mementos
Of important events, we went to
A dried up rose that was yellow
Happy things shared with me and you
Our children's ID tags from the hospital
Their first locks of hair
Other things that were symbolical
I feel the love and all the care
Small objects that our children made
A few report cards with their grades
A picture with my daughter in braids
All these memories start to fade
Sickness has altered our life
Today marks a year you've been gone
I remember when we were husband and wife
I must live my life and carry on
I visit the grave where you are
Remembering our journey
I pray and look at the stars
There's no more sadness or worry
When I die we will again meet
We will dance together in heaven
It will be my last heartbeat
It will be like our wedding
