i find that when i transfer my from word to the submit box it makes extra spaces between paragraphs.

I always found that too. I'd have to preview it a few times to ensure that there wasn't an extra line at the end of the paragraphs or the hard returns of poems.

My wife recently had the Brazilian sugaring done. She said it was much less painful and invasive than waxing. I haven't tried it yet but probably will. Waxing is never fun just something done but better than shaving.

Amen!

Sugaring has been around for quite awhile .... it's definitely a better option than shaving and waxing, in my opinion. I've had a sugar-er (hahahaha) that has done my sugaring for a good 7 or 8 years.

Let us know how you like it!!

My understanding is that it is a procedure that removes hair at the root, so essentially, waxing without the wax. And given that it's a sugar paste, likely with a lot more mess than is to be encountered with waxing.

The only upside seems to be that for the DIY crowd, sugar paste is water soluble, and residue can be easily showered away. As my waxing is done at the hands of my aesthetician, this is not a consideration, and so...yah, no, not trying the sugaring.

I had posted this on another thread about waxing ....

I don't wax any more because of the skin irritation; "sugaring" in some places is also called "sugar waxing".

It is an all natural "honey" made from food-derived ingredients like sugar, water, and lemon juice to remove the hair follicle from the root.

Sugaring doesn't stick to the skin as much as waxing, which means less irritation.

The proper technique is much more technical than waxing (an interesting thumb drag and wrist flick), the discomfort is less because hair is removed in the natural direction of its growth (as opposed to waxing, which removes hair against hair growth). This ensure less ingrown hairs (virtually none if you use some gentle scrub / loofas).

It's really not a DIY type of thing unless you are doing it on a friend .... but still it takes a LOT of practise to really be effective.

Definitely more eco-friendly than wax ... and a much slower re-growth because the sugar rips the hair from the root instead of breaking off the hair with the wax.

love the lyrics to this .... Green Day - Still Breathing

I thought EVERY day had a 4:20 ....

I celebrate regularly!

When I read, I usually have two on the go ....

I am re-reading Canadian author, Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale ... It's more rounded and I am savoring the words this time (20 years later).

I am also reading an old novel from 1935 (!) It Can't Happen Here is a semi-satirical 1935 political novel by American author Sinclair Lewis.

1. I've left law. (yay!)
2. I'm current in the midst of a 5 month vacation. (wow, wow, wow!!)
3. I'm preparing my life and lifestyle as an entrepreneur (scary as hell but I know I'll be much happier!)

for those of us who chatted with him, shared writings with him, read his wonderful wordsmith works, felt his kindness and his great sense of humour ..... we have been so blessed.

for all those who get to know him by others posting their thoughts and memories, and in his terrific writings .... you are blessed too.

Both Alan and I arrived here to Lush in October of 2009. He always impressed me with his poetry and his compassion, helpfulness and his happy spirit, no matter what was going on in his life.

suffice to say .... Alan was a wonderful person who has left us too soon.

RIP Alan

I'm kind of fantastical about real books. I do not lend them. I do not bend the spine. And I sure as fuck NEVER fold pages.

I'm with you on this! With my "real" books, I tend to use a yellow sticky to mark my page.

I am enjoying my kindle for the fact that I close the kindle cover and it saves my page/spot! No folding the page to bookmark where I am.

One thing that really irritates me is when people bend the pages of their book (mostly I see it with paperbacks or soft cover books) back and breaks the spine. That's why I never lend out my books except to my daughter.

Can we get a button to turn off quotes in the forums? (If we had the option.) That would be lovely.

I don't get why this would be a "want" or a "need" .... how else do you quote someone, unless you don't like the idea that you are quoted and therefore your words, if quoted, are forever embedded.

Am I missing something??
A must-see ......

Moonlight

A timeless story of human connection and self-discovery, Moonlight chronicles the life of a young black man from childhood to adulthood as he struggles to find his place in the world while growing up in a rough neighborhood of Miami.

The acting, by three actors (childhood, teen and adult) Alex R. Hibbert, Ashton Sanders and Trevante Rhodes are amazing.

I was so moved, I cried all the walk home. It's not a move to see if you are looking for fun, laughs and light-hearted entertainment.

This movie deserves the highest accolades for the writing and mostly, the incredible acting.

I just saw this on the news. Huge loss. RIP Leonard Cohen. Brilliant songwriter!!!

Thank you .... I've been quite teary about this.

Van
The great Leonard Cohen, CC GOQ was a Canadian singer, songwriter, poet and novelist died today at the age of 82.

His work explored religion, politics, isolation, sexuality, and personal relationships. His work spanned over 50 years! wow!

RIP our beautiful poet ....

Here is one of his most enduring song that has been covered by multiple artists. Hallelujah (Audio)

Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew her
She tied you
To a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light
In every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy…

In my near death experience - for a brief moment in time, you know it, and let it go .... it rushes over you like water in a river.

then, if you make it, you never recall the panic or fear .... it just was a moment. The brain is a beautiful thing that usually stops the actual fear .... you can't think rationally about that moment until later.

and for many, it's the turning point of that second (or for some, third, fourth, etc) chance to be better, do better, live better.

There is nothing more erotic than a hand job using long hair wrapped around my cock... send chills down my spine...

Yikes, cum in long hair .... hope you take the time to shampoo and condition and then comb out that long hair.

So. I just want to know, when do you hide (kill) your posted pieces? I do it if they hit the 4.8 score mark (barring them being an RR or whatever). Yah, so, I'm a perfectionist.

Anyone else?

There are plenty of less than 4.8 that have a RR ..... the RR is not about perfection .... it's about a mod reading a story/poem that knows it doesn't fit the paramaters of an Editors Pick/Choice because THAT has to be unanimous but a RR is the reward for .... "Fuck, that is some great writing!!" and feels that it should be highlighted.

Unhide those less than perfect scores .... and show your beautiful writing!
