Not sure if you got much response to this but here's my suggestion.
Write up a story even if it's a little clunky it gives your writing partner an idea of how much editing you're going to need.
Also be sure to flag up what categories you want to write in.
Some people dont mind but some really dont like to work in some categories.
I also recommend that of you're looking for a writing partner pop into Rumps bar in the pub forum. Theres lots of writers in there and it's possible some of them might be willing to work with you especially once they get to know you better.
Writing your own work is tricky, converting someone else's vision into words is a lot harder and both parties really need to have great communication and rapport.
That's just me and YMMV.
