D_D - you should ask for your profile to be removed totally (again), if they don't comply, please let me know. Drop words like "identity theft" and "Illegal" in there, that usually gets web site owners moving.

A note on searching for your stories. Some smaller sites and blogs in particular, take our RSS feeds, and use them as posts. They are not stealing your work, merely putting a snippet of the story on their site, and it should give a link back to your full story page, unless they are up to no good. That actually benefits authors as you will get greater exposure. It's not story theft as such.

Please note, you guys should contact site owners directly as a first course of action. Only if you get no luck with having your work removed, then contact me. I am extremely pressed for time running this site as it is, so please only contact me when you have exhausted all other avenues. I know how rife it is on the web for content to be plagiarised, I could seriously spend every minute of the day sending out messages to site owners.

Thanks Nicola, I sent them another email. In a few hours the site will allow me to PM members too. Then I get to contact Blondie directly myself too.

And I agree... I don't mind smaller story sites or blogs posting my stories at all, as long as I'm given credit for writing them. So far I have not been given credit on any of them that I've searched and found. I can understand trying to get traffic for a site or sex blog by using stories, but I don't get the "oh well, I'll just use my own name instead of the author". Shady stuff.
Are you sure the stories were removed by the site, and not by the user?

I searched on my stories, and it turns out no one would even think of stealing from me...

It looks like the stories have now been pulled, but my stolen bio is still up.

Ash, I've summoned the legions of darkness. Someone has lifted my gf's published work. We're on it...AGAIN!!

Uh oh... Is this another Amazon fiasco? Plagiarists are like cockroaches... you get rid of one but there's always others lurking and waiting to move in.
OK, I've been searching for about an hour or so...and I can tell you, I'm on a proverbial shitload of sites I never even heard of...

Someone mentioned xHamster...I have several on there, and I have to assume others here do as well...
http://xhamster.com/user/adel5000/posts/47515.html

I'm finding out "Your Eyes" is a very popular story for theft...I have to say they have good taste at least...

Here's another site with "Your Eyes"...there are other stories listed at the bottom, you may want to check...I already sent a message to Jake that "Deep Tissue" is on there...again, at least they have good taste...
http://www.temptationsdirect.co.uk/47-Stories/Your-Eyes

Here's another site with "The Package"...
http://erotichotstories.com/sex-with-toys/the-package-what-would-you-do/

It's interesting because in the "about" section it says...

"Welcome! My name is Jully. I love reading and writing erotic stories so I thought I could share my own self-penned erotic stories and stories from guest writers. I`d love to know your opinion and would be glad if you have a desire to be published here. Contact me if so! Have fun! smile"

However, I don't see any way to contact her...

I decided that as long as people are not using my stories to make money, I'm not going to try to get them pulled off all these sites...there are way too many, and it's just going to be an ongoing thing...

I think I'm just going to post a comment, if I can, something like "Nice story, and I'm not just saying that because I wrote it"...and then maybe post a link back to my Lush profile page...

You know you want it, you know you need it bad...get it now on Amazon.com...

An update - i just sent Blondie a PM advising her to remove the bio as well and citing issues of ID theft. Let's see how this works. smile

I sent a rather legal-laden nasty note myself to Blondie.

I exchanged a few messages with another girl on the site that contacted me because Blondie actually stole one of her stories and posted it (on the same site!!!). She said tons of people have complained directly to 'her' and to admin but everything gets ignored. Apparently there has been a heated war being waged on this person for a while now.

She did say that the blondie member deleted her own stories last night (it wasn't removed by admin) due to all the backlash 'she' was getting from our Lush camp, so thanks to everyone for putting the pressure on!

Oh, and the member I was talking to actually got this back as one of her replies from the plagiarist: "your stry lookd crp so i gv it a gd home"

You can just feel the literary talent oozing from every word, right?

The power of Lush, unleashed against you, is a scary thing. i hope it's never pointed my way! :) oh, i wrote her (the other girl) too, just to let her know that yeah, sometimes the good guy does win. :)

xhamster has my Alyce story and my alisha story on their site by a guy. This is sad.
You know... on one hand, it's flatter. Sick and sad, but flattering. On the other hand, it makes me sick and supremely pissed off. I wish there was some way to protect ourselves.

Son-of-a-bitch ...took DM's advice and did a search on a sentence in one of my stories. Fancy my surprise when I saw a link come up in - ....and posted by Howman Admin AKA top dog.
Now that's obviously not a very reputable site if this dickhead is the administrator, developer and supermod ...but it still leaves a bad taste.
Please refrain from posting links to other story / porn sites on here, it could impact negatively on lush (site owner gets peeved that 1500 people on someone's friend list all messaged them complaining a story submitted by a member they've never heard of, was stolen etc).

I would handle these matters more discretely, perhaps enlist the help of some of your friends here if you aren't getting much success with contacting the sites yourself.

What if we find our story on another site and there is no way to contact that other site?

The dodgier sites have no contact details, I know.

Every site owner however, has to provide legitimate details to the domain registrar, which is how you can find at least someone to write to. Even if they use a privacy service (like I do, as I don't want my home address and name readily available to the public), there is still an email address listed in their whois information.

Who'd have thought it, Facebook was registered back in 1997: http://www.whois.net/whois/facebook.com

the sketchy site(s) I was trying to contact weren't on that site, but I did find their host sites and contacted those. thanks for the help Nicola
Every web site has whois information.

The whois lookup web site should be able to do every domain there is. If not, try whois.sc as well. If it's a wierd TLD like .io, you may have to go to that particular country's registrar, who will have a lookup service.

Good luck!

I found a few of those actually...was able to leave a comment on one with the link to my original story, and I tried to keep the obscenities to a minimum...

I Googled seven of my stories...all but one I've found on various other sites, most I've never heard of...only one was actually re-titled btw...

I just found my first story up on another site, I checked a whois and got an email address.

However, in the tags, it does credit Lush as it's source and gives a link to my story, but doesn't credit me on the site, just wondering if I can still ask them to take the work down from their site or not

Also, it seems the domain is for sale for some reason, so also wondering if I CAN ask for it to be taken down yet.

Edit: Turns out the email is a false email and doesn't exist.
If the site has an excerpt and then a link to Lush I'm fine with that, that's just sharing content like you might on facebook or twitter. Since it points back to Lush it's still crediting me as the author, obviously. As Nic said, site's actually use Lush's RSS feed to create content like that.

The ones I have an issue with are the ones that copy the full text of the story without permission.

I'm kind of disappointed no one ever stole Youth and Experience while it was on Lush, then I would have been able to set my publishers on them, lol.

If you have not given a site permission to publish your work, then you may ask any site owner out there, to remove it. It doesn't matter if they are using a paragraph, or even offering a link, as the owner of the story, if you don't want your work there, they have to remove it.

As far as the false email address, that means they are breaking ICAAN's rules, and you can report them. If ICAAN find out their whois information is invalid, they can seize the domain

Well the domain seems to be up for sale, so maybe they have.
I did manage to get a contact off another site owned by the same person though, waiting on a reply.

Edit: I've not heard back from them, but my story has been removed and now there is only an exert of the beginning paragraph with a link to the story here, I'm taking this one as a win, lol
Man, now I'm really upset.

Nobody has bothered to rip off any of my stories and pretend they wrote my stuff!

The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.
So far, my stories have either been taken down...or the pseudo author blocked me. Ain't that something? I've only searched 5 out of the 50+ stories I have. *sigh*
This is not really a story site, so I think I can post the link...it's a forum thread where someone posted almost 100 pages of people's stories...and I can tell you quite a few belong to Lush members...

http://521friends.com/viewforum.php?f=7

What's the deal with Booksie? Anyone know anything about that site? I found someone who claimed authorship to two of my stories and a couple of poems, and while it doesn't appear anything is for sale...the fact that Booksie converts stuff to PDF I'm not too thrilled about...it means this person might have further intentions...maybe...

They changed the titles too, btw...

I spotted a couple of stories by sprite and by ropetease form here, on that site DM just gave.

We really need some kind of system in place on here to make it harder for people to copy the stories, perhaps gav could make it so you can't copy and paste the stories or something, I've seen that on some other sites, no idea how hard it is to do though., hopefully making it harder to steal our work would put most of these thiefs off.

I think just about everyone on Lush has a story over there...some of the titles even have "Lush" in the name, like this one...
