Retroactively designating a story as part of a series?

A couple things related to this:

1) I neglected to designate one chapter in a series as being part of that series. Can I edit that story, only putting the series tag on it without any other changes, and not screw anything else up? Will it retain comments, likes, etc? Will I make life hell for our moderators?

2) Similar, but different, can I create a new series tag to tie stories together that weren’t originally meant to be a series? Say, a character recurs. And then same questions as above, would apply.

Generally, if you're just doing housekeeping like that and not changing the actual text, you should be able to make the edits and leave a note in the Moderator Note box so they know and it should get passed fairly easily. At least that's how it was in the old days when I did it once or twice.

For 2, I have a series on StoriesSpace, which uses the same software, and was able to create a series for a trilogy of stories there when I posted the second and then added the first. So, yeah, adding a series retrospectively is, or should be, possible. Again, leave a note for the mods on the stories you edit to do it so they know what you are doing.

The security cam was supposed to catch porch pirates, but instead it launched Tyler and Wendy on a new erotic journey.

Yes, just leave a note to the story mods about what you're doing. It's cool.
