As the title suggests, what is the protocol for editing? For short edits, I know it is fine to edit within the box, but for longer edits, sometimes you don't want to edit online, for whatever reason - people poking you, messaging and other distractions, so you edit offline. When finished editing, do you copy and paste the story into the edit box, thus overwriting the old copy, or do you have to manually enter the edits in the box?
You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

you can just copy and paste, if you wish.
from a mods view, tho, here are the pros and cons. if your story was rejected and you edit it in the edit box, we can see exactly what's been edited - that makes it easier for us to review it and quicker for us to publish it after seeing the fixes. if you copy and paste, we pretty much have to treat it as a new story, making more work for us and taking longer to turn it around for you. not that we mind working hard, but it is something to consider.![]()

I'm a little curious, how does one become an editor on here?

I will contact you privately to discuss. Generally, when looking for story moderators (if that is what you mean) we look for members with good writing skills illustrated in the forums and in writing, longevity of membership, and a few other things. Thank you for asking.

I read the replies, good question.
I do both. It depends on how much needs to be edited. Sometimes, there are Lush only issues that happen when you save, extra words or a lost line. Glitches. These have to be dealt with in the edit box.
I use the edit box when it's minor.
However, sometimes I write when I'm tired and I really butcher it - fragments all over, sentences out of order. If this is the case then ill rewrite it on my computer.

I have written a story. It was rejected and sent back to me for editing. I worked on it for quite a long time and finally re-submitted it yesterday. However, I can find it nowhere. Not even te first draft. Where did it go?
I am lushlovely22 and it was my first written story and my first submitted story. Can you help?

Hiya, it's in the queue for moderation. You'll get a message once it's been looked at
