OK, so if any aspiring authors out there want someone to proofread their stories before they submit them, then feel free to send them to me. I am NOT going to steal your work ;) , I actually enjoy doing this (crazy, I know) so just send them to me by private message and hopefully, I can help you!
I'd be pleased to do that for authors, as well! Disappointing how often material hasn't been proof read.
Hello. I have just finished the 15th chapter of a story that, in chapters, I intend to submit here for verification and publication. In total the 15 chapters are about 225,000 words. Can you proofread all of that for me please and ideally by lunchtime tomorrow. Thanks so much .. I have sent all 15 chapters to your mail address here on Lush smile.

The above for missingjanedoe.

JOKING!!
missingjane, I suspect that there would be many writers more than willing to take advantage of your offer. One thing though - before you begin to try to proofread and/or edit stories, please study the guidelines at the link below! Some of the moderators that approve stories are VERY picky about all of the details, not just spelling and grammar, while others seem to be less so. You'll need to pay particular attention to punctuation, use of names and numbers, and, especially, paragraphs and formatting dialogue! It has been a pain at times to get a chapter or a story approved, but the mods here - "wilful", in particular - have made me a better writer.

You will be doing yourself and the person you are proofing for a big favor if you know and understand the requirements and expectations FOR THIS PARTICULAR SITE before you try to do any proofreading or editing of stories. The link I've included is a good place to start. Hope this helps!

Okay, don't know why the link won't show, but it's the "advice before submitting a story" post in the forums, under writer resources. Should be easy to find.
Cool, I hope you can help people out here, including the mods.

I think you should try proof reading people's work, Jeremy. You've posted many stories over the years and therefore have a great understanding of what the moderators expect in terms of punctuation and small detail.

With a little practice I think you'll be great at it. And you never know, it might be a big step towards getting on to the story moderating team.

I'll drink to that.
I, too, am willing to proofread, and to a lesser extent, edit stories. PM me if you are interested.
