not sure if this is the right topic but how long does it usually take for your story to be verified? I already have 3 parts of a story lined up for verification for the past 24h...
When I have had to modify a story it has often taken a couple of days. You can always send a message to the moderator asking them the status. That will probably move it along. I am as anxious as you to read more!
The turnaround is usually a couple of days, depending on how many stories are in the queue.

hiya rachel,

it's generally a couple of days to a week, depending how many stories are in the queue. gold members get their stories fast-tracked straight to the top, so they're generally seen to within hours rather than days. just something to consider if you're planning on submitting regularly. (shameless plug alert, lol, but you get a shiny badge and it supports site upgrades etc)

at the moment, there are 33 stories awaiting verification, so we're fairly busy at present. we generally ask people to only post one at a time, and wait until it's verified before submitting another, just so the queue doesn't get too clogged. as there is a 24 hour gap between stories by any one person appearing on the front page anyway, even if we verified them together, they won't show up at the same time.

i can see your stories in the queue. we will do our best to get to them asap!!

cheers,

jen xx
If you are always anxious to see your poems and stories in print you might seriously consider becoming a gold member. I'm incredibly happy being a premium member, and having my works fast tracked.

Hi Rachel,
Another quick note to add to what Jen said above; it's far preferable for you to submit one story at a time and wait to submit the next until the first is published. As Jen noted, only one can be on the front page in a 24 hour period in any event, but if you are writing a multiple part story and part one should get returned to you for some reason - errors, edits, topic, format, whatever - part two would then pop into the approval queue and might get approved and published before part one.

You don't want that confusion in the chronology of your story, and to my knowledge there is no easy way to then get part two on the category page behind part one, where it belongs. By not submitting future chapters until the preceding one is approved and published you retain control of that issue - a good idea, as there are a number of mods working at any given time and we will likely NOT be tracking the sequencing of your work.

Just a thought, and thanks for writing!

Thanks a lot guys! I will that into mind smile I am kinda new here so didnt how stuff actually works so I kinda posted part one on a day and part two and part three immediately on the next, being the impatient goose I am. But now that I know, I will ensure to post them properly :)
i thought everyone knew by know that, if you dump a shit load of money into my paypal account, i'll pretty much verify anything the second it shows up. well, if they didn't before, they should now.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

If you are posting a multi-part story you should space them out by a few days ay least.

First of all if you post them all at once and your first story had a problem and gets sent back to you while your second story was able to be verified right away, you'd end up with your stories appearing out of order. Secondly, you should give your readers time to read the first story. Many people can't get to it immediately and add them to their reading queue. You should always wait for the previous story in a multi-part to be verified before you post the next one.

It can take a few days to a couple of weeks or so to get a story verified. Verifiers are all volunteers and get to them as quick as we can, but all have regular jobs and life away from Lush. This is also the holiday season, meaning verifiers probably have less time than usual. So you should expect a longer wait.

All of the previous mods said it right. Another thing to note is that since we've gotten rid of the old A-Z list, some people post stories with content we no longer allow on the site. If those stories come across and they're multi-part, it can not only get your stories published out-of-order, but can also back up the queue even farther.

I try and wait a few days, even a week before sending in a following chapter to a story. Gives the previous time to settle, and a little build on the next one.

We ARE volunteers, so wait times can vary. But, like has also been mentioned ... getting the shiny badge fast-tracks your stories to the front of the line, and you even have a special VIP section, to boot!
