Movies like Hostel and Saw which involves a lot of torture. I rarely watch them because they scare the shit out of me.

I saw Wrong Turn when I was a kid and was absolutely terrified. That's actually part of the reason why I have serious issues with being surrounded by large sections of trees (i.e., Pennsylvania).

I hate all zombie and apocalypse-type movies, but I watch them anyway. Fun fact: I waited until the new year to see 2012 (like hell was I going to watch it during 2012), but still haven't mustered the courage to see it.

Ghost stories scare me quite a bit, too, but I also love watching them. Actually, I love watching horror movies period (except the torture porn ones) even though I get frightened so easily. Haha. I'm generally the person in the theater sitting next to you who's peaking through her fingers, constantly jumping, and gasping all the time. I'm a total scaredy-cat. :P

Not a particular movie as much as Asian horror...they have such a way with that creepy thing off in the corner of the screen. I do enjoy our American versions of The Ring and The Grudge as well, but the originals? The best!!!

There's a few for me but the one that really stands out is Alien. The spaceship 'Nostromo' is so realistic, erie and you could cut the atmosphere with a knife. I feel there is nothing in the modern era of films that equates to Alien.

when i was younger it was ghostship and the fog, but now i love horror movies i actually laugh during them (i get weird looks from the people i watch them with). makes me sound strange or crazy but i cant help it. Im not scared of any of them now.

Also like Jen, when I was younger my Dad let me watch an old 1981 film called Ghost Story with Fred Astaire, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., John Houseman, Melvyn Douglas, Patricia Neal and a very young and beautiful Alice Krige. The film had very poor special effects and although very spooky, it wasn't really scary. But the storyline...... well I thought it was absolutely stunning and it remains one of my favourite films......
