Well, if given unlimited choice, I'd choose teleportation. Among the more prosaic choices, I'd go with road trip by car.

Sea level rise by itself wouldn't affect it directly, but more frequent heavy rains might flash-flood it again.

Organisations that support children in need, and lately to Ukrainian refugees.

Why would people, who believe God created all, hold a book, written not by that god, but by humans who were flawed, just like they are, for the only and literal truth and as a result, reject part of what their God created?

Not only that, but more than 1,000 years passed before the Catholic church decided what books actually belong in the bible. There were many people that wrote scriptures, but not all of them made the cut. Now, there was a certain standard used for evaluating these scriptures and if they aligned with what was believed to be God's word. These rules however were created by man as well... so who knows.

The Christian bible doesn't answer all of the questions. I don't know why it came about in the way that it did. I do read the bible and I believe that it is the inspired word of God. People are flawed and people do bad things. People also do good things. But my faith is based primarily on the knowledge that I have that Jesus died for my sins. He took his righteousness and placed upon me so that I can have a restored relationship with God. I already know that I do bad things... so to have that gift without the whole fully formed knowledge of how the Bible came about - I choose to cling to that. It's part of my beliefs.

What I've experienced is a life that was not perfect from the beginning. It was an environment of physical, sexual, and drug abuse. But, I believe I came out rather successful in my career, I've chose a life that did not involve drugs or alcohol, and I was able to get help to move past a life of difficult circumstances. I believe that God put into my path a host of caring people and these mitigating circumstances to turn my life from something horrid to something that I am proud of. So, my testimony is what God has done for me, how he has plucked me from the pit and set me on higher ground. Some might just call that coincidence, kismet, karma, or circumstances. I choose to believe it was God that blessed me and redeemed me. Faith is a very personal choice. I don't have all of the answers. I just have my beliefs and my personal opinions on why I believe them.

If you want to dispute the legalities of spirituality, there is a feisty discussion in Think Tank. What I have found in Think Tank are people that only want to prove themselves right and don't work on understanding others or their relationships. I think that Jesus was about relationship. I'm not here to prove my point right or wrong. It is simply what I believe and everyone is free to have their own beliefs.

Now, anticipating dispute here.... yes, I come to Lush, yes I masturbate and talk to a significant person here. Yes, I'm also a Sunday School Teacher. I do things that don't fully align with Christian theology. I'm ok with it. I'm not a bad person. People make choices but in no way do I believe I am going to hell, nor is any other person that has a religious belief, Christian, Muslim, Hindu.... I do not believe they are cast into the pits of eternal hell, etc., etc., etc. But, if you believe they are doomed, I am doomed, you are certainly free to believe that.

I have been fascinated by the great apes, especially gorillas, since childhood (King Kong and the original Planet of the Apes get a lot of the blame) and this one is a photo I took myself at Disney's Animal Kingdom when we took our son to Walt Disney World. This rainbow version was created for me by someone here during a past Pride month (Liz, for those who know her).

What is your favorite wild animal/bird?

Apes can talk dirty, too. Here's my entry in the "Dirty Talk" competition. Read it and let me know what you think. A virgin student gets a special present from his female housemate.

I took early retirement, so the best part of my job is having the time to write all day now. When I worked, I liked getting paid to learn about IT.
