I have had that happen a few times, but I keep a file where I record various scenes and settings I started out to use, but I later thought they were not appropriate for the story on which I was working at the time. I always eventually find a way to use those discarded scenes in future stories, or, on at least one occasion, a discarded scene became a story on its own.

My husband and my sister, used to read my stories before I sent them to the mods. Since I left Lush once, and my stories were deleted, I am not publishing stories here anymore.
