You're such a meanie to rurals.

Rural on rural crime is becoming an epidemic 😢

As I see this topic bounce back up every once in a while I have to say; 'Red State Murder Rate' is a fucking slamming band name.

Ironic hit the nail on the head.

The analysis purports to tease out of the data political predispositions towards murder.

At its base (when excluding the murders from only one of the cities), it combines whatever differences there may be between Democrat and Republican tendencies in all the other cities.

If the goal is to distinguish assumed different predispositions between Democrats and Republicans to murder, then those groups should be measured.

Those different groups were not measured in the red states.

The goal is not just to measure predispositions to murder by individuals. It’s also to Look at policy impact on murder rates due to state and local laws drawn up by politicians running those states. Blue states tend to have more gun control. If letting everyone have guns everywhere without background checks (or barely any) was such a good policy and the good guys with guns all shoot the bad guys with guns as a result, then the red states would be way ahead. They are not.

What’s always funny to me is how the red state folks will talk about how violent the cities are when the cities generally have lower murder rates than most small towns. They just hate numbers.

Then there’s the argument that the most murders happen in Democrat run cities while ignoring that cities can’t set their own gun laws. Even if they can, it’s a 2 hour round trip to hop outside the county to the red suburbs and you can arm yourself there.

Why even discuss this....you are all obviously correct and any opposing opinion is intolerant

What opinion? Your opinion that reality isn't real?

Any poll can be manipulated to reflect your agenda. Even reality can be. Jumping off track for a moment, further analysis depicts over 50 percent of violent crime is committed by 13 percent of the population. Each and every state and city with those highest rates fall within that perview. That 13 percent are minorities. States with lesser minority population do Indeed show less crime. Reduce the issue further, that crime is contained to cities which in reality does not accurately reflect "states". L

That cities cant set their own gun laws, even if the can its a two hour hop, ect ect.....make up your mind either they can or they cannot.

Ironic violent crime is committed by violent people, criminals, whom care not for you nor i.

Cities, particularly in red states, find setting gun laws next to impossible. Austin, TX is a great example. They attempted to set gun laws stricter than the state. Despite overwhelming support from people on the city, they were still sued and brought to court by the Texas AG. I’m addition to this, they can only affect the county they are in, thus even if the legislation sticks it’s still impossible to regulate the flow of guns when it’s so easy to work around it. Keep up on current events if this is confusing to you.

I have no idea what you mean by ‘ironic violent crimes’.

Lastly your comments on ‘any poll can be manipulated’ is the laziest and dumbest argument you can make. The data is collected by a trusted government source. The math is simple. And using such ridiculous blanket statement to ignore reality is simply aggressive and willful ignorance. If you think the data is manipulated that get into the numbers and show your stance. You haven’t done that, you’ve just plugged your ears and closed your eyes when looking at another’s view points. And what numbers are you trying to throw around about minorities? Your statements makes no sense. Do you have a link to the study your trying to cite? What you’ve stated is gibberish.

I think all that dancing in the sun has cooked your brain.

This wasn’t a poll… it was a statistical study. They even took out the cities from the red states and the red states STILL had a higher murder rate than the blue states where they included the cities. They gave the red states an advantage of taking out the cities and there was still more murder.

How do you still blame that on the democrats (and black people, 13% right) when blue cities and blue states combined still had a lower murder rate than red states without cities? The study shows that the rural areas of red states are so bad when it comes to murder rate it drags the entire state down.

Facts don’t care about your feelings Sundancer. Sun dancer lol sounding like a hippie girl.

What analysis? Okay, let's make this even easier - what grounding do you even have in designing and conducting research that you can make the claim that reality can be manipulated through polling? Can you back any of this up? Sounds like you just made up a bunch of racist bullshit while dismissing legitimate studies. Prove me wrong. Show me your sources.

...or fuck off with your racist bullshit.

Don't believe everything that you read.

Violent crime being visited upon me, a Caucasian, in my neck of the woods is 99% more likely to be thought up/instigated/caused - by fellow Caucasians who do not care one bit about anyone except themselves. There is nothing ironic about that probability either.

I live in a former Blue state, which shaded to purple during the 1990s, then became fully reddened by 2006. I have zero idea why this happened, as I once thought there couldn't possibly be that many fucking greedy, self-absorbed, narcissistic assholes living in Missouri.

The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.
