It seems Putin has won this round, and it's reasonable to think Prigozhin isn't long for this world, like Putin's other detractors. Which is a shame because Putin must go to make peace possible.

I think he lost too, because the Wagner group is pretty important to Putin.

Not sure Russia under a mercenary leader is what the world needs. Can't be worse than Putin? Hold his beer. Putin may well be done like dinner at some point, but Prigozhin does not strike me as an improvement.

It often takes a monster to defeat other monsters. Ukraine would not be a safer vacation destination with Prigozhin all large & in charge.
Putin was forced to eat dog shit by his Wagner boss, in front of the world - but more importantly - to the citizens of Russia. Then he was forced to make concessions and utilize an intermediary (Belarus).
I wouldn't be surprised to wake up one day this week to read about a relatively small, strategic suitcase nuke having gone off in whichever region Putin can determine that Prigozhin is camping out within.
