Boeing Prioritizing Profits Over Safety

The Boeing hearing that occurred yesterday featured testimonies from a whistleblower and other experts highlighting the declining quality of Boeing aircrafts due to skimping on quality checks and ignoring reported issues. This was due (shocker) to their prioritization of profits and making shareholders happy.

Boeing has an extensive history of problems ranging from "incidents" to straight up disasters, for which they always receive a slap on the wrist. Are there really gonna be significant repercussions for Boeing?

As a side note: I don't think Boeing would have had an opportunity to get to this point if the transportation system wasn't so fucked in the US.

I fully believe after some thorough senate grandstanding they’ll give Boeing a slew of government grants and the board of directors will give themselves a raise.

The PBS documentary series, Frontline, covered this. It was quite good. Recommended for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Boeing isn't the only US corporation where greed rules over all else.

Here's a common load of horseshit with a bow and ribbon around it, courtesy of a great American Insurance company: https://www.cigna.com/medicare/shop-plans/medicare-advantage/

And here is the reality: https://www.propublica.org/article/cigna-medical-director-doctor-patient-preapproval-denials-insurance

Medicare Advantage Plans are fraudulent con-games designed to fleece people who think they can believe their insurance company's representatives.

You can roll the dice with flying on a Boeing jet and successfully reaching your destination without dying and you have better odds of success and ongoing health. These insurance companies are what Republicans used to call - DEATH PANELS

The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.

As those who knew me were aware, I worked in aircraft manufacturing for 34 years before I retired. And I’m absolutely horrified by the way Boeing cheated the law. As one who managed an Engine Nut production line I can tell you it’s absolutely inexcusable that they allowed so many safety violations to occur. This was not a mistake. The system prevents mistakes. The ONLY way all of this happened was a clear and intentional disregard for the most basic AS9001 quality requirements demanded by the entire industry. The fact no one has been jailed is astonishing to me. Unfortunately, a company that big finds if cheaper to pay off fines and lawsuits then spend the money and reputation required to correct these pandemic flaws in their production.

You could not pay me to fly on a Boeing aircraft today
