One of my met peeves is "know what I'm sayin". After almost every sentence I've heard people say that. If I didn't know what you were saying, I would ask you to clarify or say excuse me.
"Think outside the box" is one worn out pretentious cliche.
If you're going to use that phrase, grow a mustache and a mullet to go with it.
Just keeping it fresh! Bullshit. I've heard it all before.
Or how about, "Just keepin it real". That's a load of shit sometimes too. The speaker just wants to be crude or nasty about something.
or "I gotta be me."
(translation: I might be an asshole, but you can't possibly expect me to not act like one. It wouldn't be authentic!)
"It's not You.... It's me...."
(Translation: "It's TOTALLY YOU You Fucking Freak.... EWWWWW! I can't believe I ever let you TOUCH me..... I'm going to have to move to another COUNTRY, just so nobody knows I ever dated you..... Jesus, what was I thinking.....")
xx Steph
Sounds like some date you had Steph.
"Or what have you"
You know when you go to the zoo or what have you.
I had a turkey sandwich and chips for lunch or what have you.
The target market would be teens that skateboard or what have you.
I hate "or what have you". And also "or what not."
I use similar things in my speech like adding "or something" to the end of a sentence when I'm rambling but when people add "or what have you" to the end it sounds like they are trying to be smart and they sound way dumb. It bugs me.
"There are reasons I don't want to get into here"
Every time someone has pulled that phrase on me they have turned out to mean that they know that they are a lying stinking weasel and that if they actually stated their reason everyone would know that is what they are.
Another thing that gets my goat (another one) is when people talk about the intentions of countries as if they were people. They will talk of what 'the US' or 'Israel' or 'Iran' want to do when in fact we all know that there is a huge range of opinion in every country and even more so in government.
It is a sloppy way of thinking that is unfortunately common even in circles that should know much better.
Hate when someone starts a conversation with "look!"
responding "im fine"
no your not so just tell the truth find the courage and say the words you mean and feel...be honest!
Know what I'm saying..... that's a big one
To be honest
To tell you the truth
or, Do you want the truth?
Those are like saying, well, everything i've said to this point has been a lie.
