I'm all warm and snuggly when I wake up, particularly if I'm with my snuggle bunny

Yes, I take a teddy to bed too. He's called Darwin.

Only joking. I know what you mean.

It's also worth noting that cloud cover can have an effect on morning and night time temperatures.

Heat emitted from the earth's surface is trapped by clouds and re-emitted back down to earth.

That's why clear nights are much colder than cloudy nights.

Why is it that when SHE says that everyone thinks she's a fucking METERIOLOGIST???

(When I SAID it they LAUGHED!!!)

Nic: "It doesn't help that you can't spell 'meterologist'???"

Me: "FIVE FUCKING YEARS HERE YOU COULD BE NICE JUST ONCE!!!"

Nic: "Yeah, I know..."

Me: "Sorry, was that you being nice?"

Nic: "No."

Yeah! That's true, though the phenomenon I'm talking about is independent of them variables x

I've got a teddy! I think a lot of people have teddies and stuff. I have my original big bunny on my bookshelf in my old room at my parent's house too. He has to get a cuddle every time I go

If meteorology is the study of the weather, what's the study of meteors called?

She's just teasing you.

People do that to me too, especially on here.

They tease me something rotten.

Astronomy

Cosmology
tiddlywink has it with her first answer. It's just a specialization under astronomy.

Meteorics. Never heard of it, but it makes sense using the -ics suffix.

I have loads of teddies piled up in the corner of my room.

Daddy calls it "teddy bear mountain".

Though Darwin is my favourite. He's a fluffy bear with the biggest eyes ever.

Thank you!

You've been ever so helpful to me today.

It's much appreciated.

That's preposterous!
Because you get out of a nice warm bed perhaps?
Quote by BethanyFrasier
You're running. The sun comes up. You sweat. The sun creates thermals as heat rises off surfaces heated by the sun. Thermals create surface breezes, as cooler ground-level air rushes in to equalize the lower pressure created when the thermals rise from the surface. These breezes hit your sweating body and create wind-chill skin-cooling, which your body interprets as colder air.

Or...

You're just imagining it. :-)

I agree with you. I'm getting sweaty thinking about you running with those puppies.

Actually i am familiar with morning sun break weather. I' can say the the sunrise tempture changes when the wind picks up. Many times I surf and am out at day break. The wind is almost non existent at those early morning hours, then about nine the wind picks up and you get wind chill. With it blowing across the water. But... That is just where I live in Southern California.

This is one of those questions that have us talking about the weather. I'll believe what Bethany says cause she's soooo smart.
On a clear night (and usually calm), the air closest to the earth is coldest. Temperature readings are taken at a height of 1.2m (4 feet) above the ground. The temperature at 4 feet (for example) may be 14 degrees Fahrenheit, but a few feet lower, it may be 11 or 12 degrees. When the sun comes up, and starts to heat the earth, it causes the lower layers of the atmosphere above the earth to mix, so those 11 & 12 degree temperatures at just above ground level mix with the air a few feet above it. If you watch the thermometer, you will likely see the overnight low temperature occur within 15 minutes after sunrise due to this phenomenon.

This sounds like a more scientific explanation of what the woman at the Met Office said x

You are quite welcome!
Me meteorologist buddy agrees with the Met Office, his explanation is that solar warming ( more pronounced in urban areas) gradually wanes as the night wears on due to buildings and the earth giving up stored warmth, thus the lowest temps occur at or just after dawn. Yes, cloud cover, wind direction and speed can all modify this as well as the arrival of a cold or warm front.
I woke up early today, and have been watching the temperature. It was a steady four degrees for two hours before sun-up. The sun has now been up for well over an hour, and it's dropped to, and currently remaining at, two degrees. It dropped to three after about fifteen minutes of light, and fifteen later, to two.

I love my snuggly warm bed.
Ut incepit fidelis, sic permanet.
