If you could go back to any year in history, what year would you go back to and why?
Note: you're not allowed to interact with anyone as this would create a rift in the space time continuum, which is a bad thing.
So I can't go back and convince myself to ask that hot girl to the prom, thereby messing up my entire subsequent timeline? Bummer.
330 BCE or thereabouts to meet Alexander the Great at his peak and see what he was really like (and if he was really gay/bi 😗)
A woman goes shopping in the local mall. But what the heck is she shopping for in that outfit? My Festive Flash comp entry.

You can't meet yourself because if you met yourself, you would have met yourself already and wouldn't need to go back and meet yourself in order to change your luck with the hot girl. But, if you dug your heels in and said dammit, I'm going to meet myself, you would create a parallel universe, one in which you went out with the hottie and one where you didn't.

There's a problem there, you'd get wiped out in the process, unless somehow you were part of 20% of life that somehow survived the impact. Still it would be spectacular, if tragic for all the organisms that were vaporised/burned/pulverised by debris.

I've thought all this through! I can either a) witness it from space or b) come back to the present seconds before the shock wave hits me. We DO get to return to the present time eventually, right?
