With the transition to Lush 2.0 coming up tomorrow, I'd like to say thank to Lush 1.0 and its service over the years, and that includes the folks who've made it possible: all the mods over the years, but above all Nicola and Gav.

I've been critical about this version of the site, and I have been vocal in my complains about certain aspects of it. But to build a platform like Lush, with all its features, both sensical and non-sensical , with its huge user base, its massive amount of content, and to keep it up and running while trying to fight off technical and financial debt, is no simple feat, at all.

Besides entertainment, Lush has also enabled friendships, both online and offline, and even some loving relationships (are there any stats about marriages or even kids being born?). Lush has also helped many to discover more about their sexuality and/or fetishes.

So thank you very much Lush 1.0! may your successor be able to live up to what we've come to expect from you.

And thank you Gav, for all your hard work on this site's code base and operations. I hope we'll see you around in Lush 2.0.

Good luck tomorrow!

Yep, I'll second the motion. It shows its age when I compare it to other forums I am on that use current, commercial forum software, but it works well enough for its purpose and has been a real treat to hang out on. The new site is definitely more modern but old Lush has its charms, too. It has a feel that is quite different from the very slick, stripped interface of 2.0 (assuming 2.0 is basically the same as SS 2.0).
Hmm, I thought I posted this in The Pub/Occasions for the occasion of tomorrow's transition. Oh well.

Probably one of the attractions for me was the relative simplicity and basic-ness of the site. I'm all about things that work just about well enough - myself included.

That said, looking forward to the upgrade. I haven't checked it out yet, so not sure what to expect but I know that Nic et al. have put a lot of work into it.

Don't believe everything that you read.

I agree absolutely! Thanks for articulating it, Noll.

I learned to write here, and I met my wife here, and several valuable friends. Lush 1.0 will always hold a place in my heart.

From what've I've gathered at SS 2.0, some things will be better, some will be worse, but overall it's definitely an improvement. The Forums are MUCH slicker, and that's where I spend most of my time anyway.

So thanks Lush 1.0, and thanks to the people who kept it running, and thanks especially to all the wonderful folks who write stories here. Not to get maudlin, but writing is a special, holy thing, even if you're writing porn (maybe especially if you're writing porn), so I like to think sites like this make the world a better place.

See you on the other side!

Tintinnabulation - first place (Free Spirit)
Comet Q - second place (Quick and Risqué Sex)
Amnesia - third place (Le Noir Erotique)

Thankyou for creating this thread, Noll.

Oh, Mobile Style sheet how I loved you.
Our love was cut short but you made things so easy not like Lush
wasn't easy to follow but you look so beautiful.

Thankyou to all the Mods, Nic and Gav.

I took a few "pictures" she poses so well.
She caught the light well.

I am looking forward to reuniting w/ Mobile site which is just Lushstories[dot]com

If you think this is simple and basic, go to Stories Space and have a look at the new software. I imagine Lush 2.0 will be similar. It has to be the simplest, most barebones forum I have seen since the early days of Web forums. I'm now looking at the software I use to run a site to see how much I could strip it down to achieve a similar effect.
Not sure at what time the transition starts or how long it will take, but I guess my next visit will be on Lush 2.0

See you all on the other side!

Thank you Lush 1.0 for all the friendships, stories written and read, forums, fun times, some bad times and all the memories over the past 9 years! It’s been quite the ride!

Thank you to all the Moderators and your roles here. Your hard work and dedication is very much appreciated.

Of course thank you to Nicola and Gav for Lush 1.0 and for providing us this amazing community.
Special thanks to Gav for his friendship and help over the years! I sure hope to see you pop around still ~ I will miss you

While I am a bit nervous for 2.0 I am sure it will be great too!
Cheers to all of you and 2.0 ?

Be nice to each other

Yes, thank you Lush 1.0 for providing me with an outlet for my imagination and also enabling me to establish some wonderful online relationships. I hope to see you all in the New World.
This errant spacemen just wants to say thanks to Lush 1.0 for helping me meet some wonderful friends, and
onwards and upwards to version 2.

Yuri

There are no strangers here - just lots of sexy friendly folk to chat with ?

Thanks to all involved, Nic, Gav, the mods and all the people who either write, read and comment and/or mess about in the forums (sorry, not one for the chat rooms).
Thanks to the friends I have made, I have met some very special people on this site and after all it is the people that make places like this work well.

I do hope the new format isn't a designers wet dream but useless without a degree in programming... give me intuitive functionality over good looks every day.

Change is the essence of life it is said. I'm nostalgic for the way things are and apprehensive about the way things will be, but without change in life, there is only death. Speaking for myself, it might be easier to use on mobile devices, but I spend little time in Lush from my cell phone, if for no other reason, the screen is way too small for me to do anything other than check-in from time to time. So that is not going to be a draw for me. Personally, I'd rather see a clean slate entirely - everyone starts from ground zero as they say; no importation of stories, forum threads, nothing. Just a new platform. Oh, get rid of the voting on stories and get rid of the badges too. Clean and simple, a place to read and write stories. Nothing more and nothing less.

I also learned to write here at 1.0, and continue to learn everyday. I met my husband here and a lot of really good friends. I am so thankful to the Lush crew that keep this place running smoothly and I am really excited about the upcoming changes.

Wow, we have like the same story!

See you on the other side, Lilly!

Tintinnabulation - first place (Free Spirit)
Comet Q - second place (Quick and Risqué Sex)
Amnesia - third place (Le Noir Erotique)

Overall, it's been a pretty good run. Especially considering how it all started to where Nicola & Gav have brought us to now.

Solid work.
The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.
