My last this morning
Gorillaz
Clinton Eastwood
Put the kettle on and make me a pot of Red Rose. Not a cup, a whole pot just for me. Not sure why, but I slept in this morning and it's left feeling a bit meh. Got yardwork to do but I need it to warm up first. Low single digits Celsius is a bit chilly even for me.
Hmm. What to add to the music mix? How about a beautiful Dutchie with a voice that can tear down mountains and move monsters to tears? Yeah, Floor Jansen again. Just did a listen through of all the studio albums of After Forever, the band that launched her career. She joined at 16, their first album came out when she was 19, and the band folded when she was 28, though they had already been idle for a couple years before that. This track comes from their penultimate album, Reimagine, and turned into a favourite on this listen through.
A vacation encounter as a man seeks to cope with a less than merry holiday season
Good Morning, l’m currently lucky enough to be lying by the pool, not a cloud in the sky, in Gran Canaria. My only concern is whether I will have time to write a competition entry. 🙄 So make mine a cold lager. Thanks. ☀️😎

What, you don't have a laptop with you? 😉 I'd think a resort in the Canaries would be a great spot for writing. I've thought about taking mine along on longer cruises or resort stays.😊

My wife said if I take my laptop it will end up in the pool. Apparently she would like to see a bit of me this holiday! 🙄🤣
However, that doesn’t mean I haven’t bashed out a plot outline on my I-phone, just don’t tell the missus! 🤣 🤣

LOL. I once wrote a poem on my Droid while sitting on a beach in Mexico. It's on SS.

My wife wants to do one of the cruises to Hawaii out of California. It's like five sea days each way. I've told her that the laptop is coming. There's no other way I will be able to stay sane on a ship for that long.

Thank you for the setup, Lion!
And welcome everybody to Sun-day. Does everyone have their sunny side up?
We have houseguests this morning, and I'm working on our pool now that it's open.
Anybody interested in a swim? It's a balmy 47F! Even the ice has melted!
Any takers?

I just wanted to announce that I am ok.
Glad to hear. I am ok, too. Cleaned the garage after lunch along with other, lesser, outdoor chores. Going for my walk soon.
Comp entry is off my radar but it goes until end of May so I am certainly not out. My current story keeps wanting more and I am now broaching the 10k limit which then brings up the question of finding a breakpoint and making it a two parter. The good news is that much of that growth is a new sex scene.

The Vancouver killings? Or something personal? Either way, vibes. The event in Vancouver was a real stunner to wake up to even over here in Ontario.

I'm so sorry you – and all of Vancouver and all of Canada – had to experience that, Bonnie. The world has become a sad and sorry place.
Stay here where all that can happen to you is a quick feel.
And it's Moan-Day, so let's get moving.
Lights on extra bright, to dispel the gloom, Lady Dryad has cleaned up and we’re ready to go.
Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Red Rose and Irish Breakfast available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.
Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is ready to serve.
Today we're using Loon Call Breakfast Blend coffee beans from Muskoka Coffee Roasters. It's election day in Canada.
Elbows up.
There are donuts.
Plus I've got some chocolate biscotti for y'all.
Take care out there, 'K? As the lady said, it's a dark world out there, so come together.

Trump is the 'X factor' as Canada picks a prime minister

TORONTO − In Canada, a defiant patriotism has taken hold, thanks to Donald Trump.
Canadian flags line residential streets. Supermarkets label Canadian-made products with maple leafs. "Elbows up," a defensive hockey maneuver, has become a rallying cry to unite the country against a common enemy – the American president.
This southern friend of my northern Canadian friends my thoughts go with you.

My heart hurts for this senseless act of violence. I have friends in Vancouver and love spending time there. Hugs for you in this dark time.
I'll Be Home For Christmas - Holly spends Advent preparing for Nick's return.
I'm behind in all the happenings here, but I'll do better trying to stay in touch. It's been an interesting April, lots of highs and lows and not much in between. Had a rough bout with norovirus in Michigan which started with my baby granddaughter and worked its way through the entire family except for my husband. I'm pretty sure all of his years of traveling globally have made him immune to most illnesses.
I did get well in time for my trip to San Antonio and Fredericksburg and spent 3 days with giraffes, rhinos, and a sloth at Longneck Manor.
Heading to Disney tomorrow to see my sissy, her daughter and her SIL!
Meanwhile, I'm modding today, but I plan to take a break for a swim since the pool will be closing next week for two weeks while the tile gets installed on the pool deck.
We have landscaping! But some parts need to be completed. I promised Kimmi I would share pics. Once it's done, I will post!!
Grabbing a Coke Zero to go work on story modding again. HUGS for all!

Well, the Liberals pulled off an almost hsitoric forth consecutive win, falling just short (apparently) of a majority, needing 170 seats in Parliament, and – so far – getting 168. They will need one of the smaller parties to help them pass legislation, but I suspect they will just dare anyone from triggering another election, and go their own way.
Now we find out just how good Mark Carney, former Governor of the Bank of Canada AND the Bank of England, can be.
I hope in particular that he focuses on productivity, and green initiatives. Both are sorely needed, especially when we're under attack by Dennis the Orange Menace.
Funny thing – or not so funny, and not really surprising – that Canadians have been innundated by messages from Americans saying, "We're sorry – he's not doing this for US! Can we still be friends?"
And the answer is – of course. We've been friends, allies, and neighbours for almost 200 years. We're not going to stop now. BUT, we will not be steamrolled by a tangerine turd.
Now, let's move on to important stuff – caffeine and goodies!
Kick Ass coffee blend from Kicking Horse Coffee Roasters of Alberta.
Donuts by Timmies…
And Bear Claws are some of the delights on offer this morning!
