So I forgot about the clocks last night. Got up at my usual time. Got breakfast ready. Was just pouring my first tea of the day and looked at the microwave clock and went "crap". So I reset the clocks that I can do manually (except the bedroom since Lady Seeker is still in the sack) and am trying not to eat until seven, else I'll get hungry too early. But the tea is getting drunk. I can always have my second cup with breakfast.

So a cup of that Ceylon tea for now. I might have a bite later.

Current writing effort is starting to stall on me. I really need to figure out the female lead because she's already mutated from an entomologist to a marine biologist and I have a million ideas about her mysterious background ranging from elf princess to Atlantean to European royalty to the daughter of some high-falutin' business or political family. Or some combination of those (European royalty of Atlantean or elvish descent?) Which means I am still not even sure what genre this story is. I like what's written, I just have a character who is as much as mystery to me as to the other characters.

Sounds like you've got a nasty case of the genres, Ape. Bad ju-ju that!

Try drinking hot chili sauce. It won't clear it up, but it's at least amusing for the rest of us.

That song was, I think (hey, it was 40+ years ago), my intro to Fleetwood Mac. Certainly the song I remember most from listening to the radio in the seventies and eighties.

Yeah, and I used to use it as walk-on music for my stage presentations, so it means stuff to me, too.

Sounds more like something my son would do. I seem to recall him eating chili sauce direct on at least one of our trips to Central America.

And after much dithering and contemplating, I am a paying member again. In fact, I took advantage of the Black Friday offer and am now Platinum. Doesn't mean I won't come and go from time to time but at least gives me another reason not to delete again.

Getting dark already (thanks a lot, time change). A wee dram of Scotch, please.

I don't drink a lot of Scotch anymore, but if I did – and since you didn't specify – take a hit of this Glenmorangie 12-year-old.

I know that's technically underage for Lush, but I won't tell anyone if you don't!

And glad to know you're going to be around, off and on, now and then, hither and yon.

Good Moan-Day morning, and welcome to HOPE Day!

Let's all keep our fingers and toes crossed. Or, in my case, paws and claws.

Lights on, Lady Dryad has cleaned up and we’re ready.

Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Red Rose and English Breakfast teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.

Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is now perkin' away.

Today we're using Folgers Coffee in hopes of enticing a certain Lion from his den.

There are donuts.

Plus I've got a selection of fine pastries. The supplier tells me this batch is 100% calorie-free, so dive in!

Take care out there, 'K?

English Breakfast and an eclair should start the day well.

Did my first round of raking yesterday. Already had some stiffness in my shoulders so, needless to say, was a bit achy after. Still a bit. Weather continues nice, though. Fallish in a good way.

And it's a pivotal time in history.

It's one of those rare days when you know the world will be different ever after – you're not just sure how.

Personally, I believe quite strongly that Harris will win, and it won't be close.

And that will open the door to Woman Power as women realize that by coming together, they can be in control, and they can make a difference.

But there's no certainty.

So hold onto hats – or your ass – and grip onto whatever you feel most appropriate.

Coffee's ready in Big Bertha

Tea Kettle is hot, Red Rose and Irish Breakfast in pots.

And donuts

Hi James,

Could I have a Cappuccino, please. I've baked some choccy walnut flapjacks.

I tried one and they're super scrumptious.

Good morning! And Good vibes to my American friends and fellow Lushies. Vote early and, above all, vote wisely and consciously. This is not an election for putting on a blindfold and throwing darts to decide.

Irish Breakfast and a cherry walnut flapjack. Those look delish, Danielle.

Stress day. Doing a presentation, along with a couple others, to our parent company board. So basically the 4 or so most powerful people in the group including the current scion of the family that owns it, who holds the role of Executive Chairman.

Those flapjacks look amazing! I'll try one or three – just to be sure they're good enough to serve here, y'unnerstand…

And one cappuccino, coming up!

Hello my Rumpie friends!

Back from Europe and dealing with Hurricane aftermath and getting over the nasty sinus infection I picked up in Paris.

I am back writing and will be back modding after my gym and morning appointments. Feels good to be back with my Lush peeps.

As far as the election, I'm stunned that there exists a person so popular that he is beyond reproach. Any other person in the same situation would have been cast out. And that's all I can say at this point. I will keep praying.

On a brighter note, my daughter's engagement party is this weekend so I will get to see my kids.

Hope all y’all are doing well. I've missed being here and I'm glad to be back. 🥰😘❤️

Hey, Kat is back. Too bad you picked up a sinus infection on your trip. Happened to me in China once. Hope you otherwise had a good time.

As for Trump 2.0, we can only hope that the hype was exaggerated and it actually turns out better than expected.

As an amazing woman recently said, "This is not a time to throw up our hands. Let us roll up our sleeves."

And although I don't HAVE sleeves, I'll take the intent as the message.

Let's get started.

Lights are on, Lady Dryad has cleaned up and we’re ready to go.

Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Red Rose and Darjeeling teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.

Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and we're ready for coffee.

Today we're using Bad Ass Coffee Kona coffee because that's what we'll need to be.

There are, perhaps inevitably, donuts.

Plus I've got some cream-filled, fruity things, whatever they're called.

Take care out there, 'K?

Morning Rumpies!

Back writing ✔️

Back modding ✔️

Catching up… well that is taking some time. Slowly but surely.

This morning we are headed to Alabama to spend the weekend celebrating my youngest and her man. Their friends are hosting an engagement party on Saturday. excited that my oldest two will be there as well and my son’s wife. It will be nice to spend time with friends and family, especially after the punch in the gut this election caused.

Hoping all y’all have a great Thursday. I’ll be around on and off this weekend. We rented an Airbnb for our brood. So, I will have some down time here and there.

Hugs for all… be well.

Well! The Kat came back! Welcome, dear friend! We were sorry to hear about your troubles, and hope that your joys will soon outweigh them!

Meanwhile, let's get the day going, shall we?

Lights are on, Lady Dryad has cleaned up and we’re ready to go.

Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Red Rose and Lasang salchow available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.

Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is now perkin' away.

Today we're using Folgers, in hopes of luring a Lion to the bar.

I've put out donuts.

Plus we've got some nice-looking Danish for y'all.

Take care out there, 'K?

And to celebrate Kat's return … A National Film Board of Canada short, "The Cat Came Back" …

An incredibly talented, but modest Polar Bear, often mischievous, but never malicious!

The Cat Came Back the very next day...😻

I actually saw that in a theater once, probably as a short before a feature. Couldn't tell you the feature now, though.

Good morning. Week is ending. Tomorrow is my company's first party since the pandemic. Have to travel but the company is putting us up and paying mileage. Also puts us close to Lady Ape's cousin so we will pop in for a visit the next day.

Writing is kind of all over the place right now. Need to find something I can focus on. And this weekend is shot to hell for getting anything done (see above).

Red Rose, please.

Good morning! Had a wonderful dinner last night with our daughter and her fiancé. She officially asked if both her father and I would walk her down the aisle next October. So much joy!

Our son and his wife arrived in the wee hours this morning and our oldest daughter is en route as we speak. The groom-to-be’s mother, brother, and sister-in-law all arrive today. should be a fun weekend.

Cute little video, bear. Thanks for the warm welcome, ape. Glad to see life returning to normal after so long. Hope you enjoy your weekend!

TGIF! Just time to eat a quick bfast before the nail salon. 😎🥰

Hmph. No bear or lion. Ape in charge.

Beats chest and roars

Cleaned up Bertha and brewing some dark roast Nicaraguan coffee. For tea, we have pots of Scottish Breakfast and Assam Organic. And it's a bar, folks, so there's plenty of other drinkies around.

Hello there. Nice to "see" you. Hope all is well.

Currently in a very large mini-apartment hotel suite on my employer's dime. It's slight overkill given we are only staying one night but they booked it. Have a company Christmas party to attend for the first time in years.

Later.

Hey there, Michelle!

Lovely to see you, and so glad you dropped in!

We needed some good news after last week.

Now, since I was tied up yesterday (no, not literally – where are your minds, people? Silly question…), let's get Sunday started.

Tea Kettle is refilled and ready. There are pots of Red Rose and Lasang salchow teas available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.

Big Bertha has been cleaned, rinsed, and refilled, and is now perkin' away.

Today we're using Balzac's Dark Affair coffee, all the way from Stratford, Ontario, no less!

There are donuts.

Plus I've got some yummy peanut butter cookies for y'all.

And I'll end my set – for now – with Fearless Soul covering a Tom Petty song … I Won't Back Down
