RUMPLATIONS: Awesome Honky Tonk and Cyber Bar How Y'all Are?

OK, so we're OVER the HUMP-day, so it must be THIRST-day, right?

We'll add a little Jameson's to Bertha's Best this morning. Irish coffee, eh?

Oh, and with whipped cream, if anyone wants it.

Donuts, of course, with a variety of Danish pastries to go with.

Coffee is dark roast Costa Rican, teas are Red Rose and Assam, plus all the other fine teas in the box, and Swiss Miss hot chocolate mix.

Let's see what I can stir up on the Würlitzer, shall we?

Let's put a Loonie in and select …  Dua Lipa … Love Again …

Then I'll try an artist I'm not familiar with … Elle King – Ex's and Oh's …

And perhaps something a little more familiar – at least to me – James Taylor … Steamroller Blues …

And I'll finish my set for today with Santana, to match today's weather forecast … Smooth …

Soooo... it's been a rough week getting over the side effects of three shots in one day. But I'm feeling nearly back to myself. Heading up to see my girl today! Tomorrow we shop for wedding dresses! We are both so excited it's beyond!!

I'm hoping to do some writing here and there this weekend to finish up the next part of Mac and Grace's story. She's switched directions again on me and it's been a lot of rewriting, but I'm happy with the changes.

Got a day off today. Writing will happen, I hope, but there's other stuff to do as well.

Need a short story to get my mind off these damn longer works. I really don't have the time for novel(la)s yet but somehow I'm trying to write them. Maybe something new for Alan and Lisa (Heavenly Sinner et al.) or a shot at one of the unused ideas I have kicking around in my head.

And it's Get-Fried-Day! WHOOPIE!

Lights are on, Lady Dryad has cleaned up and we're ready to fry.

Tea Kettle is refilled and steaming away. There are pots of Red Rose and Lasang salchow available on the sideboard, plus all the other fine teas in the box. Sachets of Swiss Miss are available, along with the usual mound of mini marshmallows.

Big Bertha has been desludged, rinsed, and refilled, and is now perkin' away.

Today we're using Folgers for our friendly, local, neighbourhood Lion.

I've put out donuts, with Sara's sprinklies set aside with her sports section.

Plus I've got some buttercream cuppycakes for Kat, to help her celebrate!

Trying an old story idea again. I have had the basic story laid out in my head for a long time but the writing stalled and it just moved further and further back on the back burner until delete was pressed. But the new Nightwish single with its evocative title "An Ocean of Strange Islands" brought it out of hiding in the back of my consciousness.

I’m in Tennessee now, on the home stretch. Just got off at an exit for McD. Interesting note: there was a HUGE billboard… I mean freakin’ HUGE… advertising a Trump Superstore at the exit. And when I exited, I saw it… barely… an itty bitty building. Interesting. 🤣🤣🤣😉

So I am no longer Gold. Not sure how long I will leave it that way. It's a bit of a pain with how they do it now (I am shut out of a group, for instance) but having my usual inner debate about the value of this site given a Gold membership would pay something like like 6-7 months of my Spotify subscription (US$75 converted to CAD at current rate since I pay Spotify in CAD). And I am not publishing here outside comps right now so not too fussed about the whole verification priority thing.

Fortunately, I can still post in threads, so hello and good morning, Rumpies.

Humph. No one has put the coffee on. Brought some Tobermory Grotto over from Inspirations and filled up dear Bertha with that. Teas are Scottish Breakfast and Yorkshire Gold. And it's a bar, so booze is always an option.

Hey there – sorry. We had a Very Important Young Person (my granddaughter) here for breakfast with her dad. I made French Toast with crispy bacon and apple cider. Nothing left, I'm pleased to say.

So, let's offer up much the same for here as brunch!
