First things first, I hope this is in the most appropriate Area.

The question I'm pondering is this, if you had to choose one of the following, what would you choose?

Love?

Sex?

Truth?

And if you had to choose, why?

For me I'd take a Truth over the other two. my explanation for this is that Love and Sex are in some ways relatively achievable, yet Truth seems somewhat Imperceptible.

Cant choose one. If its going to be a happy and successful relationship, you have to have all 3!

I hadn't considered the question in terms of relationships, which probably reveals more about me than I intended.

All three are of course desirable in a relationship, interesting nonetheless.
It can't be love without truth and what is love without sex to increase the connection. Of course, if you are just going for sex, then truth nor love are needed although they are a bonus.

Well said! Couldn't agree more.
In many relationships that I have seen and heard about from friends they have two but not all three. As for myself, I have all three in my relationship with my husband. We love each other like no other, when people are around us they can tell we love each other by the way we act. The sex is freakin amazing, my husband has given me some mind blowing orgasms. Truth, you can't have a very good relationship with anyone without being truthful. smile Anyway, that is just my opinion.

I have to agree with my wife wholeheartedly on this one. It may sound girlish coming from a man, but when our relationship is strong and we are in tune with each other the sex is mind-blowingly fucking amazing. When our relationship is suffering or we are holding things back from each other the sex definitely suffers, if there even is any.

Thanks to all that have responded, taking things further, and forgoing relationships what would you choose?,
It is a very hard thing to have to choose. In a successful relationship, there needs to be all three. Each one adjusting to the circumstances arising during the course of life. However if I had to choose only one, I would chose love, because love makes all things right.
You need all three to make any type of relationship work. If you don't then there really isn't a point in being with that person. Unless your for some reason looking for it to fail.

In a relaatinship I agree, howver, if you had to choose one, which would you choose?

If I had to choose. It would be to hard. You NEED all three to work. If you don't then you don't need the others, it takes all or nothing to make it work. That's like putting in only half the effort into something. I rather give it my all..
In many ways I agree, howver I also have a sense that truth on its own can be enough.

I totally agree !!! Before my wife passed away, we were married 50 years and what was this due to: openess, honesty, not having secrets from each other and last, but not least, a good healty sex life with no inhibitions.
you r really true but if hubby and wife agree then joining by third is much exciting and thrilling specially for women
TRUTH.....I've learned some valuable life lessons in last year...and telling lies and being deceitful never ends well. So I have to say truth.

I agree with sexy Nikki. Sex will come with love and love will come wih truth. And then both parties will cum.
I want all three in a mature, adult relationship.

I think truth is first on my list.
Love and sex does go together and is next.
I choose truth. With truth you can create the love and the sex.

I can agree with that. With truth you can have the best love and sex.
Love

going by forums that ask the question, how many people know you're here (Lush).
if we where truthful, we wouldn't be here.
First and foremost, it is important to be truthful in a relationship. Love and sex comes after.
Take it a step further and acknowledge that in a loving relationship they're all interdependent. Choosing one is like choosing either flour, sugar or Eggs to make a cake. It just doesn't happen with even two of the ingredients. My kitchen isn't yours though.
While the decent, proper, part of myself says truth, there's still this nagging part of my head that says sex.

Truth lends itself to respect, love, admiration etc...but connecting on a physical level can be entirely separate from those kind of things.

I know I've stayed with selfish, lying, cheating blokes in the past because they've known how to push my buttons.

Hey, maybe I'm just shallow.
I'm not going to lie, truth without love or sex seems a bit bleak...
Milly, some shallow ends have hidden depths!

brigit, of course truth without love and sex may seem bleak, would you perhaps concur that love and sex without truth may be equally bleak? Just a thought!

One's kitchen is indeed relevant !

And love with truth and sex is bleak.

Any one by itself is depressing as fuck.

Anyhoot, I think for love and sex to work, you need a measure of truth/trust to cement things together.

Yeah!

You need Trust for Love to work and if you love and trust each other then sex comes into the picture eventually.
Keep the cold hard truth away from my lovely delusions!

(But really, who wouldn't prefer all three)
