I haven't looked at the stats. I only meant that he may have more TDs or yards passing than other QBs that haven't been in the league or starting. But, like I said I haven't actually looked at the stats. But none of them matter to me, wins/losses only. He can't even get them to the playoffs anymore.

There are lots of better quarterbacks, but Romo's not the reason Dallas doesn't have playoff appearances or success. If non-Top5 QB's categorically blew it for teams' playoff success, then the Niners wouldn't have made it to within one play of the Super Bowl and the Bucs never would've won theirs.

Being a top 5 QB doesn't guarantee success. Totally agree. But Romo is a choker. Granted, last night his receivers didnt' help him much. I'd take a game manager like Trent Dilfer or Rich Gannon over Romo anyday. Here's my thought, Dallas will NEVER win a Super Bowl with Romo. Romo will never win a Super Bowl as the starting QB with any team. He just doesn't have "IT". Eli, throws ugly passes. Looks like he should be an accountant or a high school shop teacher, but Eli is clutch. The dude has ice in his veins and can deal.

If I owned the Cowboys, I'd deal Romo away. The team has lost faith in him anyway. Once that happens, it's over. They'll play harder for Orton. One of my very best friends is a lifelong Cowboys fan. He and I have been arguing over this for a couple years now. He is the biggest Cowboys fan I've ever met, and now he's even ready to move on from Romo. It's time, if he and team aren't improving then it's time to change. Coach, GM, and QB.

Neither of those are true statements.

Dallas has two major problems, and neither of them are tied to any particular position, per se. They have no heart and their GM sucks. The GM is the Owner, and so that one's not going away until Jerry croaks, and then if you're a Cowboy fan, you have to hope that Stephen's either a hell of a lot better, or will actually hire a football professional.

The lack of heart is a locker room problem, but even if you had Tom Brady, Ray Lewis, Larry Fitzgerald, and Brian Urlacher in that locker room, their leadership would be neutered by the lack of discipline engendered from the Owner down. The coach is similarly defanged, regardless of how good (or in this case, not good) he may be. Romo's an easy target, especially on days when he fails to hit very many of his own, but that's a sideshow issue with statistical fallacies to begin with.

The problem is at the very top.
I agree that Romo isnt a clutch QB but you are giving him way too much blame for Dallas' problems. How many passes have his receivers dropped that he put right in their hands? Dez dropped a sure TD last night. What happened to the running game? Seems like the line cant block for the running game. And the defense? They never seem to make the big stop when they need it.

Romo will never be compared to Tom Brady, but you can do a lot worse (see NY Jets)!

Edit: Isnt it great that more women here talk football with passion than the men do. LOL
My Boys Kicked some ass and took names this week!!! Hoping for the same thing for this week!!!!

Here are two of my favorite Boys smile :

We'll never know the whole inside story. You're right, the team has no heart. But I see it being that way because deep down they know they can't win with Romo. I'm not bashing the Cowboys, I like them. Much better than i like the Giants (that was for Nikki). Jones needs to man up and be as decisive and tough as he was when he bought the team. Gutted everyone and was hard nosed. Garrett is too sweet, that team needs a tough coach. They don't respect Garrett. JJ sends a message, fires Garrett and lets Romo go after the season. Isn't his contract up after this year?

Btw, if Ray Rave were on that team he'd pull that team together quickly. He wouldn't put up with all this no heart shit.

Dez is a problem, and he's probably bringing things down in the locker room. But last night was just one game. Romo's track record speaks for itself. Cowboys are in my top 3 favorite teams. I just despise Romo. It is very possible my hatred of him as a QB is clouding my judgement. I'd trade him.

It's a country club atmosphere, and that negates any coaching toughness or player leadership. Garrett's a known disciplinarian, he's not sweet. The problem is that Jones undermines him, just like he has every coach except the ones that insisted on total control (Johnson and Parcells). So firing Garrett would have no affect on the overall issue. Romo, Witten, and Lee carry the only semblance of locker room gravitas on the entire team, so the perception that the players yearn for the clipboard-holder really isn't true.

I'm not a cowboys fan either, I just live with one who lives and dies with them.

The only way the Cowboys will become a dominant team again is when/if Jerry Jones puts his massive ego aside and hires people who know football to run the team and make the football decisions and he just stays in in his palace and watches. No matter what you think of Jerry, you cant deny his desire to win, but he makes bad decisions regarding football. It is the same situation that my beloved Yankees had in in the 80's and early 90's. The Boss was exactly the same way. But once he finally put his ego aside (OK, with the help of the Feds, LOL) and let his baseball people make the decisions, they became a dynasty again.

You know what I call that team in Dallas? The Chokeboys, from the top down they lack heart, coaching and consistency. A lot of it is Jerry Jones and the way he's cultivated the culture there. I didn't read all of the debate here but that's my two cents.

My apologize for not posting the week 4 winners of our little pick 'em league so without further ado here are the winners of the golden piggy and the Flusher

Week 4

The big winner of the golden piggy goes to Rembacher who match the high water mark of 11 wins ...

The bottom dweller with the odorist win total of 5 the Famous Flusher goes to SouthernJim ...

I'll trade you one Cassell for one Romo. Don't like those terms? Pfft, we're stuck with those losers dude, nobody in their right mind would trade Dallas or Kansas City for those clipboard holders.

Obviously, you've never followed Orton's career. He single-handedly nearly ruined football in Chicago and he spent the next few years, wrecking the Denver Broncos and making everyone want to punch him in the face.

This farce is hilarious (ongoing for the past few years): https://twitter.com/KingNeckbeard

Kyle Orton will lead your team to the red zone, then he'll cut your heart out, time and time again. He's an improvement over Matt Cassell, but hell, so is Mark Sanchez.
The same GQP demanding we move on from January 6th, 2021 is still doing audits of the November 3rd, 2020 election.

Wasn't Kyle Orton benched in Denver for Tebow? Enough said!!

I agree, Orton isn't a great QB. Just my opinion, but that team won't ever play hard for Romo again. They have no faith in him. If the choices are, no one plays hard for Romo, and they play harder for Orton.. play Orton. Dallas really needs a restart on QB as a whole. Get a few good games out of Orton, Romo will take them nowhere.

In a perfect world, Dallas wouldn't have either of those two guys. Orton over Romo, Romo over Orton.... either way the choices are bad. At least Orton would give them a different look for now.

Sanchez is crumbling. The Tebow train is going to run him over.

The Tebow train cometh. Maybe God really is watching.... according to YahooSports....

"Sanchez, who wears jersey No. 6, has 6 touchdown passes and 6 interceptions so far. He's averaging 6.6 yards per attempt, and his longest completion is 66 yards. His passer rating: 66.6.
Throw in a pregame tweet from Tebow noting that the Jets-Texans clash was the 666th Monday Night Football game, followed by the obligatory biblical passage, and the NFL might as well start printing Satanchez jerseys in green-and-white."

There you have it. Tebow is on God's team. Satanchez plays for the devil.

Saints fans file class action lawsuit against NFL and Roger Goodell

EW ORLEANS -- A New Orleans Saints fan is taking NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to federal court, seeking in excess of $5,000,000 in the damages. (See lawsuit)

David James Macina, a St. Tammany resident and Saints season ticket holder, filed a class-action lawsuit against Goodell and the National Football League in the U.S. District Court for the punishments meted against Saints players, coaches and management for their roles in the bounty scandal.

The judgment that the plaintiff is seeking comes from the damages brought on by Goodell and the NFL from gutting the team through suspensions, which devalued tickets, and the emotional hardship fans have had to endure during the scandal.

The lawsuit contends that Mancina and other season ticket holders “purchased their tickets with the representation, and expectation, from the Commissioner and the League that the Saints would be capable of competitively fielding a contending team comprised of the finest athletes, and the best coaches, under contract with the New Orleans Saints, or available to them through normal trades and draft choices, without dictatorial, unreasonable, vindictive, and unfounded, interference from the Commissioner and the League, devoid of due process.”

However, after the season tickets were purchased on March 21, 2012, the league didn’t inform Mancina and others season ticket holders that an investigation had been ongoing since 2009 into the illegal bounty program.

Also, that head coach Sean Payton, general manager Mickey Loomis, linebacker Jonathan Vilma and defensive end Will Smith were suspended by the league “without due process, sufficient evidence, and without consideration for the rights of the paying ticket holder Plaintiffs, and the 85,000 members of the class, summarily, without due process or credible evidence,” says the lawsuit.

“(D)ue to the unfair, prejudicial, unreasonable, and vindictive” actions by Goodell and the NFL, those suspensions severely damaged the on-field product and the value of the season tickets to Macina and other Saints fans.

Yes she did. But this once sounds like it has as much chance to win as the woman in Ohio who sued for $500 Billion because heer car was towed or the nut suing Casey Anthony for $5 Billion, although I hope she does win, LOL!!

I think I will sue Alex Rodriguez because his poor play causing the Yankees to lose has upset me and has made it hard for me to sleep. Nothing crazy, maybe $15 Million. Thats only half of his salary, LOL!

I have either the 49ers/Eagles vs Ravens in Superbowl.

Sorry Coco, I know Houston is hot right now, but I think the Ravens will beat them in the playoffs.

Not only do the Eagles not make the Super Bowl, I say they dont even make the playoffs.

49ers/Giants vs Texans/Patriots

Now that prediction I can completely agree with; I've said the very same thing since game 1. And I do hope I'm right because I am eying some very sexy shoes as payment for a bet!

Seeing that the Ravens are going to be missing key personnel for the reminder of the season, I think a change is in order.

I have 49ers/Eagles vs Patriots.

A third change might be needed if the Eagles keep up this act of mediocrity. Then I'll have to throw the Giants or Pack in there.

I still see Houston going down, maybe not at the hands of Baltimore this year in the playoffs, but by the Pats.

ESPN's 1996 segment "Smash For Cash". Pay close attention around the 7 minute mark for the league's "ok" with player funded cash payments for hits. As long as they aren't illegal hits. Also remember that the Saints players (and coaches) that are suspended were not fined for illegal hits.
