Porn: Over A Third Of All Internet Downloads

Over a tenth of all websites are pornographic, a quarter of search engine requests are for naughty things and when it comes to hosting smut, the US leads the world by miles.
The figures, delivered in a clever seductive video (below) by Good Magazine reveals just how much pr0n dominates the web, with 12% of all websites containing top shelf material and 25% of all web searches being for porno.
According to the figures, over a third (35%) of all Internet downloads are pornographic in nature, with 28,258 sweaty palmed clickers getting their rocks off to web porn every second of the day. Rather unimaginatively, ’sex’ is the most searched word.
Not surprisingly, 72% of all web porn users are blokes, and with an estimated 372 million porn-packed pages on line and 266 new porn sites appear every day, there’s more than enough stuff to keep them entertained.
We can’t imagine how they all these workers manage to get away with it, but apparently a hefty 70% of Internet porn traffic occurs during the 9-5 workday, which must involve a lot of surreptitious shuffling about in the office.
Of course, porn is huge business, with US Revenue from Internet porn totalling a massive $2.84 billion last year, with $89 being spent on Internet porn every second of the day.
When it comes to producing the porn, the UK manages just 3% of the global market, while Germany manages a slightly bigger slice at 4% - but these figures are a mere ripple in the gusset compared to the US’s trouser-arousing 89% market share.
